From a developer pov this seems not unlikely because other things the PCM does also lag (I had the charging Display in PCM lag seconds while trying to continously update the current KW).

However in the end this is all speculation (and somehow shows our addiction to the car). In the end we are confronted with the realitiy of the whole Porsche ecosystem. For me still hard to grasp.

Bonjour,

Fatigué par mon système de navigation qui se bloque toutes les 3 minutes même sur un trajet de quelques kilomètres, j'ai pu tester et remarquer que le PCM semble recalculer en permanence l'itinéraire.

J'ai eu tous les rappels, et cela ce produit pour moi depuis Septembre (Je ne l'avais pas remarqué avant)

J'ai appelé finalement Porche Connect Assistance qui m'a indiqué qu'il y avait une mise à jour TI 65/23 à faire sur mon Taycan (2023 GTS). Peut-être est-ce lié. RDV pris le 02 Décembre chez Porche Bordeaux.

Si cela résout le sujet, je ferai le feedback

FInally, after 1.5 months waiting I got a reply and confirmation from Porsche that they know about the issue and are working on a solution:

Thank you for waiting upon your request.

Our technical department advised:

We would like to inform you about an actual disturbance.

When having an active route guidance in your electric vehicle, the navigation system may occasionally pause for a short period of 5–30 seconds.

During this brief pause, the route may remain displayed without updating, and the distance to the next turn may not change.

However, the vehicle’s position on the map will continue to move, so you can still see your current location.

After a few seconds, the navigation system updates automatically and continues guiding you as usual.

We already work with high effort on a Solution and will fix this disturbance in an upcoming Software update.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your understanding as we continuously strive to improve our services.

If you require assistance or have any other questions, please feel free to contact us.

Thank you for your continued trust in Porsche.

That's great that they've acknowledged that issue, but what about the larger issue where the nav crashes completely, "navigation loading" and reloads with the destination having been lost? Hopefully it's all rolled in to one issue.

Let's hope it's an OTA update and it comes soon because the car is driving me nuts at the moment.

I think - just guessing - the issues are connected. Sometimes / most of the times we have the freeze, and once in a while we have the crash. The crash is noticeable so seems to be worse. But probably both are caused by the same issue.

I hope it is an OTA update too. I can imagine if is a dealer update we have to wait a couple of weeks before we can book a visit.

Porsche never uses the word "bug", "error", "failure" or "defect". Favourites are "further optimised" and now "disturbance" which is a new one for me!

If they do push this out over OTA, the release note will say: "Navigation is further optimised".

My navigation was fixed (further optimized) recently.
The local Porsche Center updated the PCM from 3882 to 3885
Navigation module updated to ...P1460_EU_2025.11

This did NOT fix it at first, though route planning was much faster than before.
Hang happened again after a few hundred meters from the Porsche Center, and navigation restarted before 1 km.
Porsche tech said he had seen this before and to enable automatic infotainment updates in the PCM.
Was told it might sort itself after a few days, as I had an active Navigation Error (Navigation Database Malfunctioning) and some OTA update could be waiting.
And after 4 days of me having little faith, it had fixed itself. Been OK for a week now, so far no hangs or restarts!

I have my next appointment next Tueday for this 65/23 update on my 23 GTS with also again a Power button default
I will see if it fixes my navigation issues
They also should update my PCM from 3882 to 3885.
To help Porsche to move on that subject I told my dealer that I would only be able to order a new Porsche when my GTS is all repaired

I also mentioned this issue, Porsche Centrum told me that they are aware of the issue, Porsche Germany is working on this. And there will be a database 2026 map release announced. But it wont be OTA, they will invite to make the software update. The service consultant also mentioned that my VIN number is added to the Porsche’s system and when it is available , they will call in 2026.

But it wont be OTA, they will invite to make the software update. The service consultant also mentioned that my VIN number is added to the Porsche’s system and when it is available , they will call in 2026.
Is there a reference we can quote to our local Porsche dealer so we don't have to go through all of the faff of convincing them it's a problem, have them investigate it for a few days, try to pretend it's not a problem, etc etc?

This would be extremely helpful because my dealer claims they've never heard of anyone having the issue so there's nothing they can do to help

Ma voiture est chez Porsche pour la mise à jour du logiciel TI 65/23 et le remplacement du bouton d'alimentation. Je devrais la ramener demain.
Ils semblent ne pas être au courant des problèmes de navigation et d'une mise à jour logicielle qui devrait arriver prochainement, malgré la lettre reçue de Porsche Connect France décrivant précisément ce problème.
Je reviendrai si je constate que la TI 65/23 a apporté des changements, mais je suis presque certain que cela ne résoudra pas le problème.

Interesting I got a total different story: I had new tyres fitted at Porsche Centrum Brabant today, and they mentioned that an OTA update is scheduled for next week. I’ve been following up with them on this for months..
