EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues

I have this issue as well on my '20 Turbo S. Perhaps its just better to wait a bit until they have no other choice to upgrade to a working version. The same applies for the battery pack.. if it goes in the next 3 years ('21 plates!) .

For me this means I go from "CE" to "DD"?
For sure. The reason is that this is a 1:1 replacement.
For the MY26 PCM there could be other differences, e.g. wiring loom or software incompatibilities that they didn't solve.

It's really hard to say without having both controllers side by side.

After spending $100,000+ on the car, the well-informed Taycan owner with a failed navigation system needs to know whether his car has part CE. DD, DE, or C, running software version 3882, 3855, 4360, 4405, or 4678. :facepalm:

After spending $100,000+ on the car, the well-informed Taycan owner with a failed navigation system needs to know whether his car has part CE. DD, DE, or C, running software version 3882, 3855, 4360, or 4678. :facepalm:
Don't forget the mysterious 4405, updated from 4360 - which some dealers know it exists and some don't despite it being right there in PIWIS

As a good European I support our brands, but they try your patience. This Taycan nav issue is a classic and by coincidence a recent OTA update for older VW ID.3s lowered the SoC data on the SOS module's battery such that it was only a matter of time before the SOS system throws an red error. Just happened to ours and predictably dealer response is ill-informed and inconsistent :rolleyes:

Shame. Porsche handles Taycan like purposely minimize the number of people who (still) want to keep it or especially buy it.

Maybe that's the new strategy, make people hate their EVs so much that they rush to buy a brand new top configured weissach PTS 911 GT3 touring with deviated custom stiching 1 of 1 in neon puke pink.

I'm being sarcastic, buy I wouldn't be surprised if that's logic close enough to the one of the marketing geniuses behind software locking taycans to new model years :D

Yeah… I already bought one winged no PTS no WP no extra stitching and blue. Out of this the strategy works.

Oke, I got my Taycan back. There was a new GT3 in the showroom which they started up, same for a rubystar GT4. I forgot to ask for partnumbers, but will do over mail.

The PCM feels snappier, to my surprise, most of the comfort settings were still remembered, except for the middle screen. After driving for 5 kilometers, I got a popup about an OTA update WST2. Is this the infamous BMS update? I disabled automatic updating immediately so that the OTA doesn’t break the car again. I’ll update you later.

I had the car in because the 12v battery died - they restarted it and applied the 12v battery update and on the way home my car also asked for the same OTA update. I let it happen. I think a stuck OTA update has been causing issues with a few people recently.

Nothing exploded.

My dealer still says June for the potential PCM navigation fixes.

It's not only from an OTA update. A friend with a Taycan Sedan was in for his 2-year maintenance mid october, and since then, navigating broke down. Really is a bug in the SW. He bought the Taycan earlier 2025 and is trying to get Twente Gelderland to buy his car back.

You say that in jest, but if Porsche allowed car play or android auto apps to precondition the battery like the built in nav does, I think most would be happier than this bug being fixed for the built in nav...
