Following the 2 PCM updates and the video, following the crash of the last update, which I provided to the dealer, Porsche France requests to change the PCM, appointment made for March 4.

PCM replacement - what parts of the car have to be removed in order to replace the PCM?

Just to report again, (remembering the only thing that has changed vs the last 7 months of constant crashes is that my LTE is broken and I’m stuck in a Guest profile) I’ve used the nav every day numerous times since last Wednesday on long and short journeys and it’s been faultless. So where I’ve lost on LTE I’ve gained back my nav

@Dabz When you had functioning LTE and therefore a data connection did you not find that your nav worked fine by turning off the charge planner in the nav options on the PCM?

I ask because that seems to be the key, the charge planner overwhelms the PCM with data.

No, even with charge planner disabled it was still crashing the entire PCM regularly

Yes, the Porsche logo during boot and crashing was solved.

I'm not talking about crashing nav

It doesn’t crash at porsche logo, it just crashes at blue spinning circle.

It disables uses of the entire PCM, therefore it is a PCM crash. Even if the cause of it is the navigation, as long as it disables use of other functions also, it is a PCM crash

3885 fixed a specific PCM crash, to porsche logo, indeed. But this PCM crash to blue loading circle due to navigation very much exists and is a full PCM crash.

You cannot use Spotify, you cannot use the phone app, it deactivates all assist driving functions, the touch screen becomes inoperable. Sounds like a PCM crash to me

So, I just did a 600km road trip today.

I thank the goddess of maps - nav only failed for a short section - bloody distracting as it happened on the leg of the trip where I was to reach the next charger with only 6% battery.

Just when it happened I was passing the Debrecen BMW factory and I saw an iX3 in the flesh, driving by (not ugly for a modern beamer) - could not help think their software just works.

As the months of Taycan ownership stack up, the more I get the feeling this is a wonderful second or third car to have. Which is kind of sad, as it is such a wonderful grand tourer, such a nice place to be - when it works.

What can I say - the MY26 has lightning fast Nav and even the phone doesn't overheat anymore because they added a vent that blows cold air straight at it when it's in the holder.

Doesn't make the lack of support for the older models okay though.

Has Porsche started adding the providers in Romania to their maps? Last trip I did to romania, last year, almost none of the charger were on the porsche map - and I had to add them manually via google search.
At least the map was running off the old API at the time, so no crashes 😅

😂 if you wouldn't have added that last senteance, I could have sworn you were the marketing genius behind the decision to not update software of older cars, to drive up sells - as I know it was emailed to porsche mobility in cluj 😂

What was it, 1million miles driven on the taycan to test it before release in 2020? ... and none of those drivers thought to use the mobile charger once to see it overheats the phones i guess 😂

So, I have had this issue since November. I went to my Porsche center; they updated the software to 3885, and guess what, this did nothing. Went again, they changed the PCM, guess what, this did nothing. The issue is still there. I do not know what to do. I sent an email to [email protected] describing this issue because their carelessness is a bit too much.
