I’ve checked my charging service is still active, but for the last few times I’ve tried to use GRIDSERVE chargers they don’t seem to accept the Porsche Charge Card. Today it just keep saying words to the effect of try a different payment card.

Any ideas? I’ve just checked the app to double check GRIDSERVE is on there as a supplier

I think I’ve answered my own question by googling more effectively. Looks like the card doesn’t work but you can scan a QR code using the Porsche app.

As it happens today there was a load of Tesla chargers opposite GRIDSERVE which were cheaper but handy to know now how to use GRIDSERVE

Generally tend to avoid Gridserve myself and would go in preference to Tesla, even though they're 'only' 400V capable so a bit slower charge (with the 150 kW converter option).

Bit of a teasing post without stating a reason. My personal experience is chequered. Grid Serve at MOTO Delamere is awesome, your luck at Grid Serve at Clacket Lane depends on who else is there and at Cobham the max you get is 50kW (you are better off with Ionity - if you can flipping find them; sign posting is an issue pretty much everywhere)...

  • Price, they are expensive (compared to IONITY, Tesla and many others)
  • Reliability, in the past I've had all sorts of issues with authorisation. Never was a fan of how their old ABB units used to power share (or not)

Oh I see. I am hopelessly inelastic on price being signed up to Porsche Charging Services. They may have those ABB units at Clacket Lane. Every time someone rocked up, my current went down. I left pretty quickly to charge at a near-by Porsche. Those Porsche chargers rock.

Never worked on the Applegreen ones, which are a nightmare whichever way you try and pay!
