Make sure they’ve done it before and fully understand the process. Mine is still in the shop since Weds and they appear to be stuck.
Texas Porsche techs aren't familiar with cabin heater failures.......
TSB say it is about 5 hour job.

5 days so far and now a call in to Porsche for help. This shop is usually excellent and I trust them, but it’s unsettling to know something bad went wrong.

So an Irish summer heatwave then! Hope your replacement arrives quickly.
That cracked me up as I can still recall as a kid seeing porcelain white Irish bodies basically stripped to the unders, spread-eagled over green Irish lawns grabbing the first rays of sun on a day of 50F in late Spring :)! Sun glasses needed more for body glare than actual UV :) - OK, might be exaggerating a wee bit.

My dealer called end December to schedule a pro active recall in January, hopefully a smooth replacement.

I hear they also no longer place the old flawed heater module. Which until recently they did, which is mind boggling.

That’s an interesting change. In my case they’ve definitely tried to replace the unit. Twice so far.

Maybe they just replace the circuit board with the flawed solder joints? Or maybe they just add solder?

Got mine back today. Two new tyres, PCM recall and Battery Pressure check which I think was another recall and the heater sorted., I was told this was the third iteration of the heater. They had it for 3 days. All running well now and very pleased to get it back. The smile driving across country back home makes up for any issues by a long shot.

In the summer during the first service, I asked Porsche to check my heater as it wasn’t blowing hot air. They said the heater was fine, but wasn’t blowing hot air because Eco was enabled.

A few weeks ago, I was driving and charging up at Cobham Ionity, the heater was working fine in Eco mode.

However today, the heater is blowing ambient temperature air, and doesn’t get warm even when set to full blast (high), Eco mode is disabled and AC is on.

Not sure if the heater has packed up, or HV battery temperature affects (currently 12°C) the heating (will it blow warmer air as the battery temperature increases).

If the heater packs up, is there a warning shown on the binnacle? I don’t have any warnings.

I had no warnings - I just got really cold, and also noted the battery did not warm when I programmed a charger site into the GPS.

Ah, maybe it’s packed up as I’m sitting in the cold. Thanks

A sign of the heater failing/failed is an error message in the PCM:

The precool/heat error message appears when you go into PCM...AC....tab precool/heat. The line for precool/heat is OFF and to the right of that is "precool/heat: system error".
Also, when you connect the charging plug and use the charging display in the console, the precool/heat button is dark and depressing it gives PCM info: "function not available".

Thanks, I’ll give this a whirl.

Checked the preheat option in the PCM: it’s OFF and “function is not available” ?

My Taycan Turbo arrives Friday (registered Nov 22). I test drove it and it took ages to demist. Sales person (who to be fair has been very good overall) tried to explain it away. Sure enough, heater needed replacing. ? At least it's been done before I get the car delivered!

@whitex - I just saw your post but I'm not sure that the badge you're suggesting is the right option. But then again...

I think I'll go for the PTS Signal Yellow version.
