Hi,

I get this message when I start the car. LCA is the lane keeping assist (lights that come on in side mirrors to let you know a car is in the blind spot).

This happened when I picked up the car from being wrapped and ceramic coating. May just be a coincidence, but I don't know.

The detailer said to give is a couple days to see if the computers re-recognize the sensors. They did take off side mirrors and they do work (electronic adjustment and folding in). They didn't remove the bumper.

Any ideas as to what to try? Any one else have this issue?

Thanks

Had the same problem - once they take the side view mirrors off, apparently the car requires a“re-pair” to the car’s system to enable it.

Has this as well. Actually after I wrapped mine as well.
Went to Porsche and they fixed it immediately, no problems.

I have just had PPS applied to my car. The company advised me before they went ahead it would need to go into Porsche for c. 1 hour of labour to reset LCA if the mirrors were removed. They said approximately £100 but I don’t know Porsche hourly rates to know if that is correct.

No charge, but my PC has been good to me, so I intend to stay good to them.

Do you know what they did to rectify the problem?

No details, but assume reset a Flag in a database. (A flag indicating the mirrors have been dismouted)

I just got this message as well. I had my car wrapped and they did indeed remove the side mirrors. nIs it still a simple fix by going to the Porsche dealer and having it reset? Any cost associated with this reset?

i was straight forward with my dealer and told them what happened, so it was only fair that they would charge me since a tech did have to do work. they did lower the cost quite a bit though.

apparently it is a reprogramming thing.

as an aside, i believe there was a way to avoid this issue which the person doing the wrap may not have known about.

Do you know what this method is?

I think they use their diagnostic equipment (PIWIS) and dip into the mirror functions / settings to re-enable features.

£100 - £150 / hr sounds about right for UK but your dealer may do this free gratis if you're lucky.
