I have the Sport turismo GT with 21 inch wheels and find it very comfortable. Not as much ground clearance as the CT but certainly not a problem as far as a comfortable ride.

Has anyone had a chance to compare ride height/comfort between the sport turismo (say base or 4S) and the cross turismo? Is the suspension a lot firmer on the ST? Found a relevant thread but it hasn’t been updated in a while so thought there might be some fresh info!

Thanks in advance!
I am not sure anybody here is likely to have done a valid comparison of that sort.

In terms of chassis dynamics a properly damped softer suspension will give a better ride, and the extra suspension travel of the CT will also, on a road surface where this extra travel is used.

Without knowing the actual settings of the air suspension for different models I know enough about suspension dynamics to know that I can't say - maybe somebody here has some data, but I doubt it.

According to the marketing propagands the only model with specifically stiffer suspension is the GTS but whether the effect of this on the ride is liked or not is just down to personal taste.

My experience of suspension design is all for racing, I was the inventor of the Williams active suspension which won a lot of races before it was banned, but the physics is the same.

FWIW I chose the CT because it WILL have better ride, whether enough better for the average buyer to either notice or be swayed by I don't know but nobody has repealed the laws of physics ;)

My knowledge is based on turning up for my Porsche Experience day for my 4S saloon and getting a 4S Cross Turismo for the job as the CT had just been launched in 2021 and Silverstone had loads.

I could not tell the difference. I drove the CT harder than I ever drove the saloon because it was:
A) Not mine
B) On a track
I never noticed my saloon handling better or riding worse.

I have driven Taycans with and without PTV and RAS and I can never tell the difference despite people on this forum swearing blind that there is a magical, other-worldly transformation.

My track record is not good however as I now have a GTS (with PTV) and I still can’t tell any difference between it and my 4S. The Porsche Experience day in a GTS saloon also felt the same to me as the CT4S.

As Frank and Montgomery Scott always say,
“Yer cannae change the laws of physics”
One of them designed an active suspension system for Williams F1 team and one was chief engineer on the Starship Enterprise so listen to them.
The CT will ride better!
BUT to most mere mortals (certainly me) the Sports Turismo (or saloon) will
feel the same as the CT.
Buy the CT for the ground clearance.
This is a clear and huge benefit on UK roads.

Thanks everyone. Should have updated this thread; I now have my ST 4S and can’t tell any major difference between this and the (many!) CTs I tried before finalising my order. Am pleasantly surprised with the ST ride, actually, considering I live in the country and spend most of my life on potholed roads…
