Ask your dealer. If your build isn't locked and they have an allocation then it should be possible.

Many will jump ship when GTS is announced.

4S for now is the one (until then) - makes the Taycan even more redundant IMHO.
Not sure about that statement. Cayenne and Panamera can live together, so can Macan and Taycan. Two different cars from the same brand in the (almost) same price range. Although I enjoy the styling of the Macan, I would never consider buying one.

Done, I jumped from the Macan4 order (ETA Feb/Mar 25) to the 4S order, which should arrive before the end of the year (what a joke...).

I don't understand this extreme model fragmentation within mostly the same price range.

The RWD is £2k cheaper than the Macan4, which is just £4k cheaper (when factoring in better suspension as standard) than the 4S.

My view is that the Taycan volume will drop (lower than Panamera) beyond the point of economic viability. Panamera will finally go fully electric unless replaced with the Taycan but until then the hybrid option will be a strong draw.

Practicality another reason - proper sunroof, towbar and a cycle carrier that is 50% cheaper than the oddball Taycan one.

Sports car handling is remaining plus point for the Taycan.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I really do not like the SUV ride height, period. I feel like I am disconnected from the road, perilously close to tipping over on every turn. Yes, I realize this is not necessarily a rational feeling, but that doesn't make it go away.

Whilst all of that is true (physics plays a large part here,) it becomes largely irrelevant for most day to day journeys.

My biggest gripe with the Taycan is ingress / egress due to the low height (irs an age thing). Porsche have obviously listened with the introduction of the Active Ride option which jacks the car up for ingress / egress. This comes at a price however!

I guess I didn't express myself very well, because what I'm trying to say is completely independent of your opinion about what is or isn't relevant.

I'm saying that I don't like the SUV form factor. I don't want a Macan. A Macan does not provide an acceptable alternative to a Taycan for me. I am not saying that my opinion is right and your opinion is wrong. I am not saying that I think more people agree with me than with you. In fact, I'd bet a fair amount of money that most of the world would agree with you.

But what I am saying is that there just might be enough people who do agree with me to make it so that a sedan will remain economically viable here.

I’m guessing that Porsche will merge the Taycan and Panny into one model, no more refreshes to the Panamera since it was just recently refreshed. Panny does less than half the Taycan worldwide if I remember correctly.

My wife and I were just discussing this yesterday. Macan 4S to Taycan 4S is nearly a $30k price difference base to base, with the Taycan still the clear performance leader in multiple areas.

However they’re close enough where I’ll assume existing Porsche owners may choose the Macan 4S to save some money for similar performance and vehicle class.
