Has anyone had any success in getting their car released 'early' by chasing and chasing (basically, stamping your feet) and/or getting in touch with Porsche GB about it?

Just seems crazy that all we can do is wait for a car that appears OK (code 8...whatever that means).

I don't like to be a pain in the proverbial towards dealers as they seem in the dark, but not having a car is a pain in the neck now so I'm prepared to be!

I don’t see that chasing will make any difference as the status is from Porsche HQ (Germany) and the dealers are independent so in most cases just as much in the dark as the customers…

No Porsche dealer is going to go against HQ instructions, else the liability (if any further down the line) sits with them. Porsche GB is even more unlikely to respond to any complaint - they will push it back to the dealership to be dealt with….
That is what any large organisation would do for a published known issue.

Since, this is a well known issue at Porsche, and I presume enough paper trails in dealerships about when the car was received, when the 50 days started, etc, etc… … no one is likely to cut corners and do any favours.

Why would a dealer risk it… for one car, for one buyer. The best that may happen is that the dealer offers a higher/ better compensation to the buyer screaming the most. Even that is doubtful in the UK market !

Customer service in the UK is quite poor (and I don’t mean just Porsche) 🙇‍♂️

I finally picked mine up today. I had a very good handover experience with my sales rep who was very patient and covered the bits I needed to know.

I had an excellent day driving the car back with a few opps to have a bit of fun - such an awesome car.

Good luck to everyone else still waiting. Hang in there as you will have a massive smile on your face at the end of the day!

My car completed 12 April, left the factory 13 April and I have been told it’s at Emden since. However last week learnt it was taken to a holding area and only arrived at Emden on 25 May. 42 days for an unconfirmed reason. Comments were possibly waiting on components for a recall, or completion or quality check etc.
The timeframe ties with the 50 day comments.
I don't get this 50 day thing...I am nearly double that at 92 days!

The info I received is directly from the Senior Regional Specialist, Customer Relations Eastern Region at Porsche Cars North America, Inc.
She is not a salesman or dealership person but a Porsche HQ employee.

I have been told were that two sets of data needed to be pulled from my Taycan and sent to Germany for "analyzation" and that the stop sale is caused by the "WNT8 campaign"

It'd be interesting to see the phrasing of the stop-sale order in German; I always assumed this was actually a 'coolant ingress' issue - not 'water'. They must have discovered cars with the failure, or re-examined the production audit logs to find that a subpar adhesive and/or procedure was used during manufacturing of specific units. I'm thinking the latter (procedure) since it was immediately detected, or otherwise one would expect a recall for cars already released.
Could you describe the issue you mention? Is there a post which describes it? I keep reading posts about 50 days but I don't understand what is being described and what is the source for it.

In limbo?

It arrived @ Jacksonville, FL port back on April 10th and sat in port for 5 weeks(possibly having the heater issue fixed) till May 17th when it was delivered to PEC Atlanta.

My May 30th PEC delivery was canceled at the last minute due to stop sale but PEC Atlanta won't release car to transport company until stop sale is cleared. Once released it will go to my dealer before I can take delivery.

It will easily be over 100 days before it even makes it to my dealership in CT, which is why I don't buy this 50 day thing.

I've no idea either, and was just speculating. Several posts in this thread (example) quoted dealers saying that cars are held back for a fixed period, after which "measurements" are to be taken and sent to HQ for "analysis". It does seem there are two open campaigns (the stop sale orders must have codes/associated campaigns) so there is a bit of fire to justify this bit of smoke.

Given the fixed wait time, I was simply speculating as to what the factory may be trying to catch by slowing down deliveries. For instance, if torquing the fittings of the cooling system deviated from spec for a batch of cars (or batteries, or a production location or a given shift), they could detect that from audit logs of the assembly line, and either issue a voluntary recall (expensive and embarrassing), or wait out a safe period and then measure any loss of coolant, or other signals that may indicate leaks. /speculation

My manufactured date is a month before yours and I'm stuck waiting too. So yeah if you think you're baffled?!?!?!?

3 weeks on from the most recent Stop Sale starting here in the UK (17.05.23) and from what I hear very few cars have been released to customers. My car arrived at the dealership 26.05.23 and the SA tells me they have only seen one car released since the stop sale. I'd be interested to hear others experiences over the last few weeks.

Campaign WNT8 is the one that takes 3 days, assuming everything is okay, mine was supposed to go to 8 this morning but nothing from the dealership today

Dealership said 3-5 days last week so i assume this could mean 3-5 days from it going to 8 but not sure.
