New Taycan Issue - engine control error.

Dealer has said this is what Porsche said.

They believe during my last recall visit (which was 2 months ago by the way) the dealer got air in some battery part and the lines had to be drained out for any air.

I don’t by it. That was 2 months ago the car was last serviced. Now notice issues?

Update:

Dealer has put over a 100 miles on the car.

Cant replicate the issue.

Porsche is convinced issue has always been there 10k miles tho??????

Let’s hope it doesn’t do this again. Absolutely ridiculous.

Just got a engine control error.

Car is struggling to drive and hardly pushes power off the line.

Was literally stopping me in the middle of the road.

Was the yellow turtle flashing on the dash?

This happened to me once and the battery was overheated. I recommend setting your gauge cluster to monitor battery temp so if something like this happens you have a potential cause to correlate it with.

In my case the car returned to normal after cooling off and it has never happened again.

I was pretty concerned when it happened too, but now that I understand why I'm not worried about it.

the issue happened in 40 degree weather, cloudy day, in the morning after 5 mins and the car was off all night.

Hello, I'm wondering did you experience any further issues, or did they fix it? Or did you trade it in? I experienced the same exact situation in September of last year and Porsche had my 2020 Taycan 4s from Sept 18 - Dec 18 saying they had over 18 parts to replace and just two weeks ago I experienced the same problem again. I'm back in a loaner car and they're trying to figure it out again.

Yes, this is exactly what happened to me as well. It's super random and you don't know it's coming. However, what has been consistent, it only has happened when trying to pull off from a stop or when the car was going under 15-20 mph... So it's like you're stalled pulling out in traffic or while coasting in traffic. Scary is an understatement.

This just happened to me. Hurd a grinding noise when coming to a stop and then gassed it and the noise got worse and it cut all power and stopped in the middle of the road. Power cycled it and pulled into a parking lot, still had that noise. After that turned the wheels to check it something was broken didn't see anything turned it back on and it started driving normally. Before that, the car wouldn't charge at 150w chargers turning the battery red and giving a red ring.

Happened to me today. Was making a left turn after being stopped at a traffic light - just a few moments after the turn, all of a sudden violent jerking motion of the car, lost all power in the middle of traffic, came to a complete stop, super dangerous place to just have the car die. "Engine Control Error" with red ring around it in the rightmost ring. Turned on my hazard lights, power cycled car off and then on again, and thankfully that fixed it, didn't recur despite driving about 5 miles more on the way home. Stopped and started car and drove brief periods several times since then without issue. SoC was about 75%, having charged last night at home on AC to 80%. Temperature was hot today, almost 90 degrees F, and very humid. 2020 model, purchased CPO ~6 mo ago.

Is this the "Red Ring of Death" I've read in other threads, or something different? In those, it seems the car dies and is not revive-able. I have an OBD scanner and will check the battery condition tomorrow AM... Is this an immediate "bring to the dealer" moment? I'm not convinced they have any clue as to what's really behind these events... But am I risking it by continuing to just drive it?
