Since I got the car yesterday, I’ve been playing around with it a lot. One thing that seems odd is the Armrest doesn’t seem to fully open to a 90 degree angle. Stops around 75 degrees or so, making getting stuff in and out kind of a pain, especially because that is where apple play connects.

Can any other owners confirm this? I want to force it up more but afraid I might break it.

Same here unfortunately. It also falls down so you have to keep it in place whilst fiddling with your phone or whatever you are trying to put there.

It is a little odd how it opens and kind of dangles, definitely a quirk.

Awful design. But “normal” in all Taycans.

EDIT: changed “cars” to “Taycans” for clarity of intent.

At least the Range Rover stays up. All Porsche’s I’ve had in the past are the same though.

? For comparison, I just checked 3 cars in my driveway, a Mazda, a BMW, and a Lexus. In all 3, the center console armrest stays up when you open it.

Oops. Yeah. Sorry. I meant all Taycans. “...all our cars.”

All OTHER cars I’ve ever owned: An Armrest cover opens all the way... And Stays Open! Dear Porsche: WTF?!?

My Escalade opens all the way too. Irritating quirk on Porsches. My Panamera may have been the same way, but I don’t remember.

My friend has a 2020 Panamera and it opens to 90 degrees and stays open. (The design is remarkably similar, too, so I'm not sure why it doesn't do it on the Taycan.)

Exactly the same problem. What a stupid design quirk. If anyone comes up with a nice looking fix please share!

Yeah - ha ha, there is a pretty simple fix for this, just using a bent piece of ss sheeting and a couple screws.
Hmm I think I know what you are suggesting. Might try that.

However failing that.. I might just use an old rusty hinge :)
