Hi

A few minutes into my journey today my PCM screen switched to a blank screen with whirling blue circle and unfamiliar icon in top left of the screen. I was not interacting with it at the time, it just changed on its own.

It stayed this way the rest of the 45 minute journey to work, and when I returned to the car after work it’s still the same.

At first I think it may be an update but then presumably would have finished by now?

Any ideas anyone? I don’t fancy taking it to the dealer if there is an easy explanation / fix? Any help much appreciated.

Interesting - had the exact same issue on rretreiving my car from shop this week! Just do a PCM reboot (two finger salute in top right corner) - 100% fixed for me.

PS: in case you're new to that you'll see an Engineering Menu - just choose to boot back in Normal (bottom option in list) and accept - PCM will black all screens out for a minute or two max. and reboot will start.

@cantwait
EDIT Apologies just saw UK car of course so reboot on opposite side of screen!! Place your two fingers on the HomeLink icon and hold for a second or two and the system will reboot (don't worry re interaction with HomeLink but yeah I would not park under your garage door whilst doing this just in case :)!).

Icon is Homelink for opening garage gates etc, I paid for the privilege of having it - never works and if close to location/home crashes pcm which I believe you experienced. This happens intermittently - Sometimes when I wake the car in the mornings and and arriving back home. Fixed as ciaranob points out.
any ideas how to delete it completely?
Sorry for highjacking your thread.

Are you positive the HomeLink is crashing the PCM ? That would be interesting and indeed an entirely new thing!!
For ref, my homeLink works perfectly (both before and after my PCM issue) i.e. def nothing to do with my PCM crash/stall this week. I actually have my driveway gate and garage door synced to open with one push of HomeLink (works as they are maybe only 30 ft apart).

I’m sure my issue is Home Link connected , as on starting the car up in the garage for example (the times when it’s effected) pcm goes straight to error screen as per cantwait screenshot - and no Porsche start up screen. If I return home, press home link in pcm , it either does nothing (have to the use a fob) or it crashes.
luckily the lift function always works coming home thanks to the stored GPS position, stays lifted overnight so I can get back out, but if crashes again in the morning have to drop car by putting into sport plus mode.

My 2023 ct screens have gone blank for two months, porsche two times re set and last week wiped conputer screen total and re progremed it like when car was new took many hrs to do. Took car home Fri and was fine for two days without attaching my iPhone. Monday attached my iPhone to car and 1/2 hr later the two screens went blank again.my thought it might have something to do with the communication from iPhone to PCM but not sure. Dealer waiting to hear from Porsche headquarters? Anyone have any thoughts??? Thanks in advance

That worked, ciaranob. Thanks! It was two fingers in top right of screen after all.
It actually rebooted to the same whirling blue circle screen, but that then disappeared after about 5 seconds and the normal screen then appeared. All working now. Thanks!!
BTW, I do have Homelink but it’s not configured in the car, as it turns out not compatible with my gate!

My PCM randomly goes to a black screen then turns off the lower screen as well before eventually coming back on and pretending that nothing has happened. If I have the map on the centre console then that stops moving/responding until the PCM comes back on. Takes about 2 minutes I think.

It usually does it randomly (maybe every 2 months) although once did it when I cancelled the navigation.

Slightly different behaviour but potentially quite annoying if using the satnav when it does it. It seems to have stopped randomly forgetting my favourite radio stations though.

Great news - and interesting that the Reboot/Engineering mode is in same location regardless of LHD or RHD - GTK :)!

Hey forgot to mention - despite my car's HomeLink hardware working, and being largely successful at simultaneously opening my driveway gate and garage door, I have stopped using the cars inbuilt system as too many times it fails to open my garage on returning home i.e. the signal cannot seem to 100% of the time penetrate/get around my solid gate ending up with gate open and garage closed - fails ca 20-30% of the time - just annoying.

So I decided to test the super slick DoorMate (handlebar) opener that I use on my bike (avid rider) from within the car placed in the dedicated area up by the console (have the thermal/noise insulated glass) - this thing is fantastic and clearly has a more powerful signal than the car's Homelink unit.

Here is a thread I made (below) - the last post highlights a much better mounting solution I literally just made but these DoorMate units seem to be compatible with a very wide range of openers and I know many fellow riders in the UK use it successfully on their garage equipment - possibly worth a shot?

I wonder if you have a faulty Homelink radio and that is causing a sys crash each time it's accessed. What a strange issue.

I'm having similar on my 2023 Turbo S.

It's Android I use, so it's not a specific Apple or Android thing by the looks of it.

It'll randomly cut out and I haven't seen any sort of pattern to it yet.

I don't even know that it's my phone being connected and that it's not just a software issue with the car. Sometimes it'll reset itself in a few seconds. Other times it has taken minutes to come back on.
