Perhaps take in into service to get it upgraded. Technically it was supposed to be updated over the air, but 2 months after receiving the email from Porsche that my car will OTA, the dealer just did it while the car was in for a different service.

I haven't had this issue in a while. I will update the thread next time I get in the car with what version she's running.

Won't help.

I got the WPN8 update back in November. Since then I was presented with the black screen and Porsche logo twice (also had it happen once or twice before the update). One of the times, I actually needed the GPS guidance.

Both times it happen when I left the car for a very short time (5-10 min?) Apparently the car needs x minutes to do a full shutdown. If you return to the car while it's still turning off, that bug can appear.

Maybe a WPN10 someday?

Had this for first time Friday. Car was in dealership for first time and as I drove off it stuck on loading maps on main screen and Porsche logo on centre.

Happened again today. Grrrr

Hey wondering if anyone has seen this before. My new 2022 Taycan 4s is stuck on the Porsche screen... Drives fine and everything. CarPlay still seems to work, but no map in the driver display.

I rebooted into engineering mode 3 times and restarted. No luck. Any ideas here gents? Otherwise I'm taking it to Porsche tomorrow.

Shut off the car for a half hour, usually clears itself. The only time it didn't clear itself for me in the past when I left the car parked in a state park with very spotty LTE coverage, had to wait until I parked it somewhere with solid LTE.

My turn for this now. No joy from the engineering reset nor from leaving it locked and alone for 30 mins plus. Off to the dealer we go….

It happened to me but i needed to charge the car. The car took the charge but it refused to clear the screen (we are talking hours here). Took the car off charge and went for a small drive. Came back and left car for 20 minutes and it righted itself.
My take on this is that charging keeps the car alive and therefore doesn’t allow the complete shut down required to clear this.
Hope this helps someone who experiences the same issues.

Just had this issue. Did engineering reset twice and now waiting with a locked car. Interesting that CarPlay audio and nav was still coming through. Ridiculous that I can’t adjust the AC vents now.

edit: after about an hour locked and away from the car, it corrected itself. Three engineering resets did nothing though.

This is known to happen from time to time even when the car is in full drive. Leaving it locked and alone for some time cleared it for me. Happened 2 times.

Your backup camera/surround view still works. Actually, even apps on the PCM are running, so you can still use phone hands free if previously paired. Even navigation works (if you navigate by voice) and you can see directions on the instrument cluster. Essentially, every time this has happened to me it seems everything is alive under that PORSCHE splash screen, just software engineers forgot to remove the splash screen at the end of boot. The fact that they haven't been able to fix this in 5 years is a kind of sad. At least they should just add an option to disable the splash screen and just show us the raw boot messages and then eventually the screen. Sure, not a pretty solution, but at least functional.

It is my time for this bug. I just went to the dealership yesterday, and it is over an hour away. I hope leaving it overnight works because I am a little furious.
