Plug release return?

Anyone know how to return the plug release to original position? The cord has too much slack in it for me to simply shove it in by hand.

I had the dealer fix it when I brought it back to repair another issue.

I had to get the dealer fix it. They said something in the mechanism broke when I used it. They implied they were seeing other cases like mine.

Thanks for your help! I got it back in. Used the tip from one of the previous posts - slowly push the cord back into the hole.
