❓ Related question ❓
Do people have a preference for mi/kWh versus kWh/100mi, and if so, why?
My reasoning is that kWh/100mi yields 3 digits of accuracy, whereas mi/kWh yields only 2.

I started EV driving on a Tesla which showed Wh/mile. For me on the Taycan it's kWh/mile only because that's what I'm used to (and I still mentally move the decimal to think in Wh/mile. Old habits die hard).

Here is mine, don't ask me why it thinks there are 3 consecutive months called April - it's something Porsche app did not share with me. The screenshot is from today, June 3rd. The app thinks it's always April, including today, last month, the month before then.

Of course, given the app cannot seem to keep its calendar straight, it makes me question the accuracy of all the other numbers.

Your math need a little modifying. Usable capacity new is generally accepted to be 86.7 kWh, not 83.7. In addition you need to factor in battery degradation. Check this thread for info: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/?-baseline-for-hv-battery-soh-performance-battery-degradation-data-by-taycan-owners.12815/

86.7 kWh new, and assume a 90% SoH for a 2022 car and you have roughly 78 kWh usable at 100%. Assuming your real world range roughly matches the displayed range (265 miles) your consumption/efficiency would work out to 2.94 miles/kWh. Not too far from the figure shown in the app and if @Gru is correct and the app does not account for HVAC, preconditioning,... then the app is pretty close to what you use to move the car. You will need a Bluetooth dongle and an app to check your SoH and that would let you get better numbers than from my estimate of a 90% SoH. You also need to account for how closely the displayed range and your real world range match.

However, even if the app reports a seemingly accurate figure in your case I still have massive doubts that it is accurate, except by occasional accident. There are a lot of reports on the forum of unrealistic figures.
Thanks for the additional data and perspective. Hadn't thought about SoH. But here's a dumb question -- if my real world range is 265, and my available battery is 78 kWh, then wouldn't my miles/kWh calculation be 265 divided by 78? And isn't that 3.4 miles/kWh? Am I doing the math backwards?

App was QA'd by an intern.

Your math would be quite correct. Mine was wrong in my post when I came up with 2.94 miles/kWh. If, big if, you actually get 265 miles driving on the road then you are getting 3.4 miles per kWh. Exceptional, but not unheard of efficiency. I can hit that number if I stick to rural roads and keeping the speed steady between 40 and 50 mph. Hit the highway at 75 mph and it's more like 2.9 or 3.0 miles/kWh. Efficiency can vary a lot from a lot of different factors. If real world driving is getting you 3.4 miles/kWh be happy. Very happy.

Right now my car calculates to 262 miles at 100%. That will never happen if I drive normally. 235 - 240 is more likely. Why the dash calculates the range it does is a mystery. The secret sauce is known only to Porsche.

(Raises hand.) Yep. My Model S averaged 350-360 Wh/Mi over 10 years.

consumption and range depend on so many parameters that trying to do a comparison / estimation is a bit like playing lottery.

I measured the consumption on long (more than 160 km / 100 mi) legs between 2 charging stops. average speed is ... a real average speed, with slower / higher speeds on short distances due to traffic. Always on highways, without noticeable elevation gain or loss.

Consumption varies with .... speed (I'm not the first one to notice that ?) but also with temp., rain, winter/summer tires, 20"/21", preheat if 1st leg of a long trip, Air Co, etc...
It can easily vary by 30%, making range estimation another lottery guess.

Range follows the same (opposite) trend if you consider using 75% of the battery, which is the most efficient charging window if you want to minimize charging time on long trips. Translating in around 200km / 120mi on highways.

Sorry for the noob question, but how do you get these reports that show the data by month?
