This is not expected behavior. The manual states that it will get to the Profile setting as soon as possible, then if there are no Timers, it will go to 100% per my understanding, but I have not tried it and do not want to take a chance on it going to 100% unless I am watching it. Also, to @whitex point, Timer has a Pre Heat feature that Profile does not. I am not seeing any point for the use of Profiles, unless you need to reach emergency minimum state as soon as possible, then hope it will not go to 100%, which is what Direct Charging does anyway.

This was my core point - this is exactly how I understood it worked - which is why I was surprised to find out this different behaviour.

It seems there is more than 1 way to skin the cat and that setting optimised charging vs preferred times within the profile can cause different behaviour.

Personally I have my EVSE set to supply power between 11.30pm and 5.30am and change the profile level as required if I need a higher charge. Works for me - although others have come up with different solutions that work for them

Yes - leaving optimised charging ticked allows profile to work perfectly just charging to target and not going beyond. A very simple work around - was suggested to me by Porsche Tonbridge when I collected car so obviously a well known fix.

+1 Confirming Profile + Optimized Charging got me to the minimum set, I had it at 25%, and said Charging Complete, then I let it be like this for several hours, it did not restart to go beyond that target as others may have reported going to 100%. The logic as mentioned is that it goes to the minimum, and then looks for further instructions, if None, in my case Timers are off, and we have nothing Optimized is supported in the US so it sits there.

My preference is still to use a Timer to slow charge to the set target by the morning departure time and then have flexibility for Precool/Preheat.

I have always used both. My general profile has been set to 80% and "optimized" since I got the car. It always charges directly to 80% and stays there when I plug it in (which is expected behavior).

Then I set departure timers when relevant. I mostly just remove the "charge" option on the timer so it only preheats (or cools in the rare warm summer days here).

If I need to go for a long trip I'll create a timer and set it to charge to 100% with the desired departure time.
