Car was in for some updates and campaigns. Recall WPS9 was noted for my car (2021 RWD). The service center had no information on this recall and could not complete it. Apparently, it is a thermal management reprogramming but they had no information on it.

My RWD was in PRG Reading, UK getting the APB2 (Check high-voltage battery) and WPN8 (Re-programming central computer (PCM)) recall work yesterday and was also flagged for WPS9 - Re-programming thermal management control unit. All three were completed but my service tech had no additional information to share on what WPS9 was actually addressing.

They also could find nothing wrong with the 12V battery that cause the car to be completely unresponsive in Heathrow Airport T5 car park when I returned from my week long vacation early January.

I think you have the wrong recall, the PCM recall is WPN9.
This is the thermal management issue- WPS9.

Well, all I know is that after getting the WSP9 update, the Climate Functions on the App worked again, as they haven't for 8-9weeks. Coincidence, who knows. I did not receive a PCM update, only the WPS9.

My GTS was flagged for a WPS9 update as well, but the dealership mentioned they had no information on it and as a result, they were not able to complete the update. Unlike Steve above, however, my climate and timers all function just fine via the app. <shrug>

My notes on my invoice:

===
WPS9 Re-programming thermal management control unit(TME)
1. campaign not feasible
Campaign - Perform Open Campaign

1. campaign not feasible. campaign documentation not available at this time

Mine is being done today; I read the document and all it mentions is communication issues between the heating components (it is also getting the HV heater replaced today as that failed; driving with cold air blowing in 32 degree weather was dun today).

Probably more to do with hard resetting the PCM during the recall work.

Thanks for the follow up.

I was told by dealer last week that my Model 22 4S is assigned WPS9, which he described as "reprogram the thermal management control unit."
I have been unable to find any info at NHTSA for this campaign. NHTSA is supposed to receive and post all such items.

My 4S was in for the WPN8 campaign a couple of weeks ago. On arrival we were advised of a further 2 campaigns - WPS9 & WPK0, so three to be done in total. The PCM failed during the WPN8 campaign & bricked the car. A new PCM central computer was ordered, replaced and all campaigns carried out within 4 days. A loaner Taycan 4s was provided there and then for the week. Technicians said it was the first PCM central computer failure during the WPN8 update... All seems to be working so far..

I also had this recall done a few weeks back, and also could not locate anything about it on NHTSA. I have no clue what the recall actually involved beyond the description in the work notes.

What did the work notes say?
