Hi everyone, I have had my new Taycan GTS sport turismo for about 6 months. while the car was at the dealership for an upgrade I drove a Taycan Base sport turismo as a replacement car. I noticed that the belts in this car retracted automatically when the car started after a normal acceleration start. my GTS doesn't do this ... has anyone news of this? do you know why? is it an optional?

Should be standard feature. Seat belts automatically tighten at about 25 km/h.

It may be somewhere in the settings. I don’t have a Taycan, yet, but that is an adjustable setting in both of our Mercedes.

It is standard and should just do it. Happens at about 18mph or a bit later if you are accelerating harder

I think the feature is only available when you choose ACC or Active Parking Support option. I had a 4S without them and there is no seat belt retraction. I check my build with my friend one by one and found the differences.
Now I got a new GTS with ACC and the Active parking support and seat belt retraction is available.
FYI

The cars I have driven all had ACC. Mine doesn’t have any park support. Maybe someone else without ACC can comment if their car does it

I don't have ACC and mine doesn't retract.

As far as I can see, it's related to ACC. I like the feature. I test drove a taycan which did that too, and it had ACC + basic reversing camera, so it seems ACC. @miglio - does your build have ACC?

This is the ACC info from the configurator. I presume the seatbelt tightening thing is there for the reason described but they also use it when driving off

I have had it activate the safety features above a couple of times when it thought I was going to crash. I wasn't, but it was a bit disconcerting when it happened.

A feature of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) - not standard in UK / Euro spec cars - same feature across all Porsche cars with ACC.
