I am going overseas for a few years and want to store my GTS Taycan...
What should be done? I have searched and came up empty here on the forums
I do not want to sell it and to be honest not sure when I will every return.
My car might become one of those barn finds 30+ years from now

if you're "storing" a car for years, just sell it. The Taycan isn't that special of a car to hold onto.

Previously: 914, 944 and 997 911S. Now Taycan

If you have a barn that you can stick it in, then you are halfway there. However I agree with the others, it's not likely to appreciate like the 911 series. You might also have to put it on a trickle charge to prevent battery damage, and now you have to worry about that whole exercise, who is paying for it, and if the extension cord will reach the barn.

Porsche TSB - Parking or storing the Taycan
May want to check if the document has been updated since March, 2022.
" If leaving the vehicle parked or in storage for a period greater than 3 months, contact an authorized Porsche dealer for further information and advice. "

Why wouldn't you want to sell it? You're happy with a nearly new car losing ~20% in value every year whole sitting empty in a garage?

Especially as you say you don't even know when you'll be back?

Why you want to make me an offer to buy it?

Have you confirmed that the country you’re heading to doesn’t have an extradition treaty with the US?

Seriously, I’d just sell the car.

I'd sell it. Price should be good right now.
Otherwise, charge it to 50-60% only.

they better get this issue sorted pronto. this type of thing is inexcusable. this is a software-fixable problem that should never have been a problem in the first place. this gets me PO'd. mainly 'cause other manus have been doing it correctly for YEARS. grrrr. /rant

also, yeah, OP, sell that car. it'll just be a lead weight around your ankles if you're truly not going to drive it for potentially years... sell it. you'll be glad you did. the truth about EVs is that they can safely sit for years as there are so few moving parts, BUT, the traction battery charging has to be sorted properly -- both by owner and by Porsche. leave at 50%, i've done it several times for months with a tesla and come back to a fully functioning car that shows no sign of having sat for months whatsoever. but, P, in this case, has to sort out the 12v battery downhill charging from the traction battery, or directly from the charging circuit. whichever. but.. they need to sort it. until they do that, i wouldn't leave a Taycan for more than a few weeks.

Gotta love forums. I love the way only one person has actually attempted to answer the question in a sensible way.

I have a car and motorcycle collection and consider there are two ways to store; "live" or "dormant"
For live, then I try and protect; tires, battery, fluids and paint as best as possible.
For dormant I try don't worry about tires and battery so much and drain fluids/fog engine.
In general limiting temperature swings and sun exposure will always be preferred.

I guess you need to decide what type of storage and then act accordingly. i.e. do you want to return and it fire straight up, or is re-commissioning ok.
Then there is the added complexity of what happens to the electronics/batteries of a Taycan. This probably makes sense to have a chat with Porsche about.
