The most common cars I've beaten are AMG, Audi R8, Ferrari and Lamborghini.
The chances that I run into a modified gen 2 4S are practically zero.
I'm fine with my modified gen 1 Turbo S, it's ridiculously quick already.
Besides, there are always cars that are faster, it's a never ending hunt...

Still, it's very interesting for owners of a gen 2 4S but I don't think many owners will do that.

How come you can gain so much more from a gen 2 4S?

Because on a Gen 2 there is no more small or big motor in the rear. Every car is a turbo from a hardware standpoint.

The main difference vs a gen1 turbo S is consistency. Below 50% it's a dog when compared to 80%+ SoC.

No such problem on the facelift.

Not doubting you, but a while back, I watched a YT video where this guy did an experiment and did 0-60 MPH runs at various SOC levels and only saw a tiny (.1 second) bit increase in time once the SOC fell below 30%. He showed the speedometer and draggy readout so it's not like we just had to take his word for it. So, I was a surprised when I read what you posted.

I am guessing it was not a Turbo S.

Yes, it was a turbo. So, only the J1.1 TS is affected significantly by the SOC? So, if you've mentioned it before, but why the turbo isn't affected by the SOC?

The Turbo is also affected, but the Turbo is already 0.4-0.5s slower from factory compared to a Turbo S.
It has 680 PS in launch control, but the Turbo S has 800 PS. So of course there the drop is not as noticeable because until 40% or so you don't have any noticeable difference on a stock car.

Basically you have 120 PS of "buffer" before you start feeling the effects.

Let's take a Taycan 4S. It has 598 PS stock with Push to Pass and 517 PS without.
With the tune it has 940 PS in all modes, an increase of over 50%. It has this even without push to pass activated, so there is no point to keep the button active.

The 0-100 km/h is below 2.8s with the tune (depends on traction) - faster than a J1.1 Turbo S.
100-200 km/h is not a little faster, it's also 40-50% faster.

The point of a tune is to increase power. If you don't want to increase power, then there is no real point to tune anything.

To get comparable acceleration you have to get a Taycan Turbo, which is over 40000 EUR more expensive. The tune only costs 2500 EUR, and the car is faster than a stock Turbo, because the Turbo has 802 PS in Push to Pass mode, and after the tune the car has 940 PS always.

I can't say I like the video very much, there is almost no information there. Maybe I should make a better one myself...
Im really interested in purchasing. I own 2020 Taycan Turbo, is this software available for pre facelift version as well?
And will it increase 0 to 60 time as well? My turbo can do 0 to 60 in 3 sec but I'm curious how much improvement would I get after I get this software.

Not much 0-60 difference in launch mode, but a significant difference when you do not use launch.

You can see the torque curve in first gear.

Based on the times my turbo S runs I would say low to mid 10's if traction is good. On the J1 the software tune doesn't help much if launch control is used.

That is only the case for the Turbo S, where the launch control is unlimited stock, not the case at all for lower trims.

Impossible to answer, since this depends way too much on traction and vehicle weight.
The 100-200 times are much more indicative of the performance, as they mostly cut that out.
