I’ve just s
Taycan 4S sports turismo is due for 2 year service soon(having done 11000 miles). The actual service is coming in at just over £300 (the brake fluid has already been done during a recent recall, so that is why the actual service is a bit less than standard. However Porsche dealer is quoting for this in addition:

Additional Work For Checking Water Drains

Door Sill Check And Clean (Main Work)
Includes Wheel And Rear Wheel Housing
Liner Remove And Reinstall Door Sill Trim
Removal
9 x Bungs

1 £507.98(inc VAT)

The explanation from the dealer is that this 'drain work' is time consuming in the garage, but needs to be done

Any thoughts on this from anybody ?
Ive Just sold my 2 year old. 4S CT was quoted a similar amount but reduced when I pointed out that a brake fluid change was done 3 months ago as part of the steering recall - they would not have told me ! Thieving bustards! As for water check - it is not time consuming like a 992 - it was I believe .2 of an hours labour £40! I don’t trust some Porsche dealers! Where are you taking it!

I'm not sure whether you read correctly. The service price quoted was over £808. I don't think that is a "bargain" nor "normal" for an EV, even a Porsche.
It was the same 2 years ago when I had my first Tayxan serviced.

£800 for a 2 year service, no road tax and cheap home charging. The entire ownership proposition is a bargain.

Labour rates are £175/hr minimum and the service takes around 2.25hrs.

Looking forward to my 2nd 2 year service later this.month.

Materials not a lot.

Brake fluid not required given the brake hose replacement campaign.

Yes, I read correctly and if you think expensive then don't subscribe to the brand.

The two things aren't mutually exclusive.

Some dealers don't take the piss. Some do. A subjective judgment and as long as one is happy, happy days.

2 yr service has a menu price and should be the same across all official dealerships in UK.

Variances should be reported to Porsche UK.

Reality is that we know this isn't the case.

I wasn't aware of any enforcement of standard pricing by Mothership. And frankly I'm far less sanguine about dropping £500 unnecessarily than you seem to be, so I'll not be sending anything to them ?

Consistency is wonderful, but not when it's gouging consistently.

Legacy manufacturers need to get with the programme on run costs for EVs. They should be orders of magnitude less than ICE and they could/should be using that in their sales pitch.

Swanky showrooms should be funded by their sales and/or used as a differentiator for service business if they think that works.

The old days are old. And £500 is £500, whether I've bought a Porsche or not (I sure as hell didn't buy it because of the showroom).

Last 2 year service (2023) I phoned 3 UK dealers including my own local. All quoted the same price. One was quite precise on the labour time of 2.25 hours - variances may be tolerable due to local labour charges.

My next one is in 2 weeks time and I've already been advised that the brake fluid won't be replaced again following the hose replacement and logically I'm expecting a reduced service charge.

EV servicing in principle should be demonstrably less than the equivalent ICE but as we all know by now that that would never play out given dealership overheads.

I enjoy a blether and a latte at my swanky dealership...they're not short of takers either.
