whelp...mine just bricked with the same error. Its on its way to Porsche (which of course is 2 months out for a loaner).

Sorry to hear. May I ask you what color is your car?

Reading content on this and it seems anything from a new 'e-box' to a complete battery swap and weeks that turn into months to solve and several iterations....this is an ugly look for Porsche.

Does anyone have experience on the other side of solving the issue. Quite disconcerting TBH.

The car was literally dead. Turns on...gives the red electrical fault note in the cluster and by definition 'bricked'...goes into neutral for towing and that's it. I called Porsche North America because its my daily and explained the dealership was 2 months out on loaners and they said a long drawn out 'sorry, there is nothing I can do'. I asked about loaner reimbursement and they said its case by case and not done until the expense is incurred which didn't give me a bunch of confidence.

I've had several new Porsches and actually have a GT3RS allocation deposit in place. Living in California puts a lot of power in the consumer for lemon law should this thing take weeks to solve. They are 'supposed' to be doing a diag tomorrow or Tuesday, but the dealership is loose on their promises for service timing.

I'm trying to remain optimistic, but the brand is really not acting how one would expect in response to a $200K car failing with just over 12K miles on it.
Hi Skilly I just got my car back after 2 weeks in the garage. Hurrah!! It bricked after only 2 weeks and 500 miles of ownership so I’m keeping my fingers crossed it’s all good now. Bizarrely it was much quicker than I expected (electric cars reliability is so bad that 2 weeks is good?!) It needed a new High Voltage Charger and 2 software updates to fix the other warnings and the excessive travel on the break pedal. The service engineer indicated that the reason it took 2 weeks is that the HV charger is failing on so many cars and they have no stock so had to get it from Germany. I hope yours is as straightforward.
It’s disappointing that Porsche have not apologised at any point for the car breaking down in the first 2 weeks, I can only assume it’s a sellers market and they don’t really care less.

I went through this in the 2nd week of December. They replaced the charge controller (were able to get the part in three days and needed 1 day to install it. Car was gone for exactly 1 week.

Been problem free since then. I have about 24.000 km on it.

I think the part delivery for my T was delayed by the Christmas holiday, and the repair took longer due to the other warnings on the dash that needed software update. I hope the new part is not the same type as the one it replaced…

whelp.

The car is completely dead at the dealership. The tech couldn't even get in today with the physical key in the drivers door. Not exactly instilling confidence...

sounds like the 12v battery has failed as not being charged by the main battery....?

actually, I think that the tow company left the car on and killed the 12v. Then the dealership tech could'nt get the emergency key to open the door and it didnt get looked at. I guess the plan is to give it another shot today, or break in. I watched them with the key and it wasnt opening the door...glad I wasn't stranded on the side of the road!

I doubt it. The car will / should auto power off after 30 mins if stationary or if locked.

its been 'hanging' without doing that as of late. Not sure of the issue. Its also been perpetually downloading the same 7 updates from OTA updates....over and over and over....and over again.

and just had a preliminary call with service. The battery pack needs replacement.

Anyone have experience in this? Timing, level of complexity etc. Is it months - have people lemoned over this? Way uncharted territory for me. If it were an ICE car it's like the drivetrain failing 10K miles in.

this is a real bummer. learning the why's and wherefore's of EVing is an uphill climb, P must be hurting. i assume they are tackling everything with the mindset of 'all must be solved, must be excellent'.. because this is an inauspicious learning period. i'll say one thing for tesla, they had the spacex tech and experience to start with and consequently their battery management and software reliability and radio work was super robust out of the gate. the fundamentals worked. well. P has a lot to learn still in those areas.... bummer. hope it gets solved quickly and as painlessly as possible for you.

Ahhh, the 300 mile myth that never dies. Quoted range by Porsche is 246 (or less).
The OP is in Europe, which has different consumption testing procedures to the U.S. The EPA range in the U.S. seems to be fairly accurate, but the WLTP (the testing procedure used in Europe) usually heavily overestimates the predicted range of an EV.

So, in short, the quoted range for the Taycan in Europe is not 246 miles. It is more, albeit unrealistic.

Joining this thread and deleting mine because I'm stupid and rage-posted before searching.....

You can add Kermit to the list of bricked cars. It was towed to the dealership here in Colorado on Tuesday. We had a bunch of snow yesterday so I should have some news today.
