Windshield Xpel wrap?

My PPF installer refused to accept any amount of money to do PPF on the windshield. Where I live we get a real winter…none of them last for that use case. So my windshield is “naked” but fortunately still very clean after nearly 2.5 years.

Has anyone done a clear windshield XPEL ? Any concern about wiper blade in contact with the film or ice/snow?

I'm in the "PPF is good" camp, but I would not apply it to a windshield, as much as I'd like the rock chip protection.
you can argue that I'm wrong... unless you live somewhere where you use the windshield wipers often - like your Seattle home - in which case the lifespan of any windshield film is going to be very short, regardless of how many or how few distorions it shows.

Windshield xpel is a relatively new application for the same tech. I rexently got email ads from a local detailer for it.

Exoshield is now on their third iteration GT3 with a 3 yr warranty. Thats what i have. No glue marks, very fine reflection on passenger side. No damage in 6 months that i see, and i use wipers, and do no specific care. I know some people may get distortions, but it is installer dependent.

I would do it again!

I should have mentioned one of the benefits of care is for ease of removal. This will save time and ultimately money.
When the film gets very brittle and can take a very long time to remove.

Just had a newer Xpel windshield PPF installed. It took 2 different batches, but the final one came out perfect. Extremely clear, no distortion and no tunneling like my fist film last year

Picked up my 25' 4S in August and installed Full Front + Windshield PPF ( Xpel ) the distortion is pretty bad, and installer said nothing they can do about it. So I have been trying to live with it and it
did saved multiple times on stuff flying on freeway that hit the windshield ~ But wonder am I the only one that loves the protection yet hate the view ( I had to turned off HUD to prevent nausea )

I had XPEL installed on my windshield about a month ago. No distortion so far. Can't speak to longevity yet obviously. I just bought Griot's Garage windshield ceramic coating to make it slicker so it will reduce the need for wiper blade motion and the friction. Apparently that one is safe for windshield PPF (unlike Aquapel). Time will tell.
