Hi all, just a very short report on the SWC300. Wife and I live in the midlands which added a 200 mile or so trip to and from Lockerbie, where we kicked off our circuit. All in all around 800 miles. Who says electric cars don’t do road trips? The Taycan didn’t miss a beat, we didn’t have to wait for a single charger, every one connected at the first attempt and we only had to use a 50kw charger once, everything else was 350kw. For those in the UK, I can heartily recommend the SWC300, we had dry, deserted roads, fantastic weather and great hotels for our 3 night trip. It‘s a mix of coastal scenery and mountainous routes with great roads making for a fantastic driving experience. We took a slightly adjusted route to pick out the best roads in the area. If anyone wants an excel of our waypoints DM me. I‘ve added a few pictures for anyone interested

I live in Scotland and had not heard about the SWC300 until now so thanks for sharing. I did the NC500 about 8 years ago and it was busy back then, hotels poor too. This looks really good especially with the nice weather you enjoyed!

If you get the chance then don’t strictly follow the normal published route. Best to take in the B741 from Straiton to New Cumnock (point 25) as shown on this map, normal route takes the A roads.

Thanks, I can ask my brother about the area, he has lived there almost 50 years and plays Golf at Prestwick so your map got me thinking.

New Cumnock. That's where some of my people are from. Enjoying the travelogue.

Love the photos - brings back great memories from my last holiday in Scotland - magnificent. You've got me thinking about hiring an EV next trip.

Looks a great road trip.
how narrow are the roads? Any issues for our wide Taycans?

There are a couple of short (a few miles) of single track roads that have regular passing places but nothing we experienced any challenges with (except for 1 driver who couldn't reverse the 15 meters to the last passing place and expected me to reverse around 100m instead ). We had very quiet roads, in peak season it might be different. The rest of the time no issues at all.

Great pics and sounds lovely.

I’m up in Scotland next week to do Beinn Ime (charity hike with work) and this thread has made me consider tagging on a few extra days to take this in (if I go by car)

Would you mind sharing the waypoints as mentioned?

Practically on my doorstep and knew nothing about it - thanks for sharing! Absolutely glorious day for those pictures too, the west coast can be very hit or miss.

Lovely colour / spec on your Taycan by the way ?

Frustratingly didn’t get chance to do this over the weekend as I’d hoped. 10.5hrs of walking Saturday climbing Beinn Narnairn and Beinn Ime took all of my energy and I just came back home yesterday.

Thanks for sharing the route though David - will definitely do this at some point.
