I just had a 50A breaker installed then added a NEMA 14 /50 outlet using 6 gauge wire to charge my new Taycan. Will the system (plug/cord) that comes with the car work for this set up? I am hoping to see 8-9KW going to the car.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Should work fine - this is the same as my setup. Be sure to set the Max Charging current in the PMCC is 40 A.

There are quite a few good threads on this forum about charging, and the pros and cons of the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect (PMCC) versus other units such as Tesla Gen 2 chargers, Clipper Creek, or ChargePoint. Post #3 on this link will give you a nice intro to the EVSEs, and this thread will give you lots of useful information.

I love the car, and I'm sure you will too!

The car comes with the mobile charger plus yes? PMCC is a separate buy? Do they charge at the same rate?

My guess is that the PMCC unit is in your order already and it will be coming with the car.

The rate of charge is determined by voltage and current levels and how much loss occurs in your connection to the car. All Level 2 chargers require a 240 V connection and if you have the wiring right you can charge at a rate of up to 40 A.

if you check the links I included above you will see that there is quite a bit of discussion on the pros and cons of various EVSE‘s.

Personally I have the PMCC charger and it has worked fine for me. If I had multiple EVs in my garage I would get a different unit that was capable of charging multiple cars at the same time.
