Just purely out of interest and a bit niche, but I’m just interested to see other people’s experiences.

I mostly post family stuff and the odd holiday on Facebook etc and as much as I’d love to post some photos of my Taycan Turbo S when it arrives, I just don’t think there’s a subtle way to say ‘hey, I’ve just taken delivery of this awesome car!’

Did you post yours when it arrived or did you keep it low key? If you did post it, what were the reactions like?

I posted to my Instagram account that had like 70 people I actually know. Most everyone responded with positive remarks. Number 1 response: let me drive it!! I believe social media like FB and IG are meant to post pics of big events.

No, I stay off social media. As a software engineer I know all too well the horrible trade offs from using these services and I hope that some day everyone else care as well.

I did send some pictures of it to people who knew I was taking delivery that day.

Your friends and family know you and know if you are bragging or genuinely happy. I posted bc I know most of my friends and family know I am super happy And worked hard for it. Besides, it’s ok to shine a bit and show your happiness! If you are just rubbing everyone’s faces into it, yeah, that’s not cool. Whatever you decide, enjoy your Taycan!

Not that I really do much social media.....

But the bit I do, I didn't post.

Friends and family get to see it in time and have a go on it if they want.
People who won't be seeing me / it are not likely interested.

And that’s the rub of it isn’t it really. Anyone I actually like or care about will want to see some photos and probably get a ride in the first month of arrival, I suppose you’ve got to think of who else is left on your social media that you’d want to see… for me I’ve got a couple of school bullies I would *love* to see it but I think it’s healthier just to move on and enjoy the car privately!

No. Also a software guy here. I swore off social media back in 2012 once I figured out what's going on under the covers and where it's going

Forums are another thing though as I think people here would enjoy and appreciate a nice pic. I know I do...

I am also a software developer and I don't use social media. Seems like all developers here know about the personal data abuse from the big tech companies ? I've sent a few pictures to my friends and posted on this forum.
