Exactly the same as me................Well today was the day… I got the call saying that all 2022 build slots had been allocated and therefore that my order wouldn’t be built until H1 ‘23. I suddenly went from a June-July build for Sept delivery with “maybe a couple of months of delay” to a Q1-Q2 ‘23 estimate.
I’m wondering what to do but I might just hang in there… I don’t really need the car right now so not too bad, just annoying.
I’m a bit reluctant to go into Q4 British weather with my current 2WD daily but it’s either that or the motorbike which is even worse ?
You gotta take a win wherever you can. ?I cancelled my RWD order today and opened a new 4S order…still being told Q3 2023 but there were 5 fewer people ahead of me in the 4S queue.
“you’re at the back of both lists, but at least the 4S list is shorter”…small positives huh?
Porsche - “your car will be very late. And more expensive. And we’ll treat you like you’re lucky to even get one of our amazing cars”Emailed my dealer earlier today:
"If I go PTS will I get an allocation sooner?"
Response: "Maybe you will, maybe you won't".
PTS build slots open only during specific times of the year, so if you are going PTS, there is a chance you will be bumped right up the list, not least as it means more revenue/dealer commission.
I am considering PTS+, as there is a colour I found on an ancient Porsche I absolutely love. £12k option, but it will be one-of-a-kind, so probably make the money back.
Dealer has to get special approval from Porsche HQ.
I am keeping plans quiet for now. The colour is kind of green and kind of blue.
Haha so true.Porsche - “your car will be very late. And more expensive. And we’ll treat you like you’re lucky to even get one of our amazing cars”
Us on the forum - “can we spend more on bonkers extras like £12k paint while we wait?”
I stuck it out mate. At numerous points over the 14 month wait I totally lost interest and nearly cancelled. But the waiting list for other decent cars is crap and it will be worth the wait for the Taycan. Its an awesome car.Well today was the day… I got the call saying that all 2022 build slots had been allocated and therefore that my order wouldn’t be built until H1 ‘23. Yeah it seems to be more reasonable to be patient, I have to say that the feeling test driving a 4S and a Model X was soooo different that I would probably be disappointed with any other EV than the CT.I stuck it out mate. Quite glad I didn’t listen to my SA who said that I could have a CT Turbo “much faster as only 1 person in the queue”… I think they just don’t know much about delays at this point in time. And who knows what Q1 ‘23 will bring…I was told sep from Teeside , now there telling me they have only 1 allocatio all year for a ct turbo, so I’ve been pushed to god knows when next year
I was going to order a 4S CT from them but just couldn't get a straight answer on how many on their wait list so ordered from Reading who were totally transparent and got me a commission number/ build slot 3 weeks after paying the deposit with 11 people ahead of me.I was told sep from Teeside , now there telling me they have only 1 allocatio all year for a ct turbo, so I’ve been pushed to god knows when next year
