I drive 4S ST on 21” Spyder Rims with Pirelli Pzero tyres. Ride quality is fantastic in normal mode, although when in low ride hight you will crash over potholes. When in medium ride it drives better than my old 5 series or my Macan. In my opinion they are a must compared to any of the 20” options.

As most have said, the 21’s are pretty good on ride quality but still not as good as the 20’s with an equivalent suspension set-up. So if ride quality is #1 for you, go with the 20’s. If ride quality is #3…. behind performance and looks (as it is for me) then the 21’s will do you proud. The 21’s on a Taycan feel about as good as 20’s do on other Porsche models. Good luck with your decision ?

I have 21” Spyders on my 23 RW Taycan.

Had a week with same Taycan model as a loaner for a week. For me, a big difference in ride quality

21’s are pretty, but hands down would choose 20’s - superior ride

does the 21 inch on your car still ride rough not smooth and which 20 inch wheels did you have with your loaner, also do have air suspension on your car and how do you like the pano roof?

I absolutely love these wheels. Much more than my all blacked out version
Just goes to show! The only version of these wheels I like is the satin finish one only available on the GTS!
It is because I have a particular dislike of gloss black with machined highlights which is in fashion at the moment and fitted to almost all cars.

The loaner car had Taycan Turbo Aero wheels

Mine and loaner do not have air suspension, unfortunately.

The ride and handling on the 20’s were noticeably improved

No question I’d go with 20’s, + rim damage on curbs with 21’s suck

The air suspension transforms the car in to a real Grand Tourer. Having driven both there's no comparison. It smooths out even the larger wheels and passengers in mine keep telling me "I can't believe how smooth this is".

For context I live in south west UK where the roads are TERRIBLE

Having just dropped off my 21" on air suspension and got a loaner on 21" with steel suspension. Normal mode to normal mode comparison:

the steel feels like half way in between normal vs. sport for the air suspension. meaning it is more taunt / less comfy on normal than air, and less firm and in control than sports mode in air.

getting the air suspension really unlocks what feels like at another 50% of the capability of the chassis.

for those of you that have 21 inch rs spyder rims and tires how do they ride?
I've had 20" on my 4S and now 21" on my GTS ST with RS Spyders - hard to tell the difference to be honest - both very good due to the awesome suspension and PASM setup.

On paper, 21" will always be harsher than anything less given there is less rubber to absorb shocks...that's were Porsche engineering on the suspension and struts comes to the fore.

are you saying that the 20 inch tires ride is very good on the stock steel suspension so would i get a smooth ride with the steel suspension because if this is the case i would not spend the extra money on the air suspension?
