Dear Friends,

I am not sure why this super intelligent person that produces amazing engineering content, got himself a Lucid. May be so he can experience it for himself and create more content. I studied his EV and EV battery videos and learned a lot, but it does not seem he learned much if he got himself this piece of junk...oh it is the engineering that duped him, it is the most efficient, that was the reason he bought it in his I bought it video.

I was disappointed in this video. He went from elation to despair faster than the Lucid 0-60 times and didn’t acknowledge that between the videos he’s done on this car. For sure they have had issues but this may not be the midpoint. I hope that Lucid is successful….sometimes YouTubers are the final nail in the coffin for new electric OEMs….RIP Fisker.

I just got back from a ~1hr rround trip drive and was thinking about how much I love my car while checking to see the latest threads here. Watching this video is only deepening my passion.

God damn I love my Taycan.

Fisker was dead before it started.

Lucid made the mistake of trying to be Tesla: very fast, very bland vehicles.

Take that powertrain and put it in a good looking car and they have a winner.

Instead their latest try is an 800 hp minivan. Seriously….. who designed this??

From what i understand the Gravity has even more software problems then the Air, i have one on order but after seeing this i think i'm canceling the order.

I just saw the first Gravity today, the actual vehicle looks nicer than the picture.
The rear of the SUV is lower than it looks in the photo, and it doesn't looks like a van at all.

So he is understandbly annoyed about basic issues that should have been recognized and fixed a long time ago. On the other hand (I have just Seen this video) he has not spoken about any or multiple recalls, downgrade or anything else.

So really hard to compare to any other car, In my POV todays highend premium cars simply do not live up to what you are paying for. It should be a thing that you own and enjoy while you‘re driving it. Instead it owns you, you‘re constantly occupied in thinking about or dealing with the problems it throws at you while You’re driving or not driving.

Fisker has been dead before so they know who to do this very effectively....🤪

For sure.

Somehow being a high end EV owner also means signing up to be a “Beta tester.” Get used to buggy software and things that “don’t do what they’re supposed to when you hit the button.”

Then you go online and people try to redefine what the word “reliability” means.

My 2021 Mach E was very much like that at first. I went through a period of months where at least 1-2 bugs would show up every week. The car never left me stranded on broke down, but I had a laundry list of faults and errors such as-

Headlight switch would turn off

Profile issue

Memory seat issue

Parking sensor screen issue

Volume control fault

Charge fault

Blind spot system fault

Cross traffic system fault

Reverse brake assist not available

Driver selectable system fault Service required.

Suspension fault speed limited to 80 mph

Auto ac blower low speed after starting

Screen slow loading

Driver door takes multiple presses to open

And these were frequent and normal. Luckily they almost all got fixed by OTA updates (until my car stopped getting them for 18 months due to a server issue that eventually got fixed.)

It did get way better eventually. And I loved the car despite its faults. I used to joke, “it’s. Good thing it’s pretty and drives so well.” 😜

Love the analogy that it "own you" and for sure the poor guy got owned and trapped in this thing, even his dog hates it. The hook that got him into this one is the "best engineered efficiency", but who can stand the falling apart interior as many reviewers pointed out now for years with consistency.

I sure love my Taycan and miss when I cannot drive it, like now, as winter started a month early in Indiana. Not that it cannot do it, but the mix of salt and dirt is not good for it.

i would estimate that 50% of the software glitches you noted, I have experienced with my 2022 Taycan GTS and at least 75% I’ve experienced with my 2025 R1T Tri. Makes me believe that the phone integration is at the heart of a great deal of these issues

@RPSRPS, I think the use of phone tech differs, but any of my issues with the App were not isolated to me and all pointed to the Porsche Servers having issues. Otherwise, I have zero complaints, but again I do not use CarPlay or any other remote Phone features accept the usual status checking and charging config. Also, I prefer to use the physical key and have my extended key features off.

Now you got me interested in what specific issues you are still having so I can try it out on mine.

Porsche server issue’s drive me crazy - I waste time trying to figure out what’s wrong then realize it’s not on my end and reach out to Porsche who always claims there having no issues, then an hour or hours later everything is back up and running.

Some of the issues that are familiar:
Profile confusion when my wife is in the car (same as he experiences) - this mainly relates to the Rivian.
No sound from speakers.
Seat no returning to profile position.
Satellite radio not loading.

I guess when I really think about, more issues in relation to Rivian then Porsche, which makes sense. Most of the Porsche issues that were in common are more one off events.

I just learned to trust in "it is not me" the car but it is "you" the Porsche having issues when all of a sudden my app does not connect or my remote services are down like real time traffic and just give it time. Yes, it is worth calling Porsche corporate and complain and ask for a discount when you are on paid subscription and they have done it for me before as much as a full year free.

Brought back memories. I have a 22 GTPE, and forgot about some of these problems.
