Maybe a Taycan...

Well my car started production 2 days early on 07/20 with an estimated completed milestone achievement date of 07/30. I was expecting to get a "Production Completed" email any day now when suddenly last evening my estimated achievement date jumped to 09/10 (53 days in production?!) and my delivery date has now further slipped, yet again, from the current 09/10 to now 10/22...

If true I'm not happy, if untrue this whole TYD system creates more uncertainty than it alleviates...

Have your dealership run a tracking report for you from their PSVM system. It will give a couple more milestones during production and see if it correlates with your TYD dates. It shouldn't take more than a week in production without issues - but they're now in the summer shutdown - assembly resumes some time later in August.

Mine arrived in Baltimore a few days ago. The TYD screen tracked it very accurately across the Atlantic. I didn't bother with any satellite tracking service as this updated continuously and counted down the miles to dealership in the upper left corner.
I had not realized that the TYD app was doing that. I guess the Germany locations were probably accurate too! Has yours left Baltimore yet?

Yes. It’s on its way. I plan to see it Monday afternoon. The SM also gets a report on parts missing such as the electronic steering column adjustment. Mine appears to be “clean.”

When did he get that report? Wondering if mine could check my car even though it is not here yet.

I will be making a drive by of the dealer once I know it is enroute. I think they need a couple of days to prep it.

Not until after it gets through port processing.

Does anyone know the dates of the plant summer shutdown? My CT, initially due mid july, is still in production since july 16th. Porsche says it is stuck in production due to lack of parts. I guess it won’t be resolved before mid september. So sad i’m thinking about cancelling as i planned trips with it this summer.

Lol. I actually went to check my TYD and it tells me I’ll have it in October. Don’t know what’s going on with this tracker. I am just tired of driving my wife’s Mini Cooper. It’s fun but very uncomfortable.
I'm gonna (try to) lay off checking for a week or so and see what happens. I spoke to the dealer and the status on his end looks weird as well. Saying still in production but the dates are wonky and I got the production completed email.

Not going to drive myself crazier. Would be fun to watch the status as it sails across the ocean but it sounds like I will be in the camp of the car still saying in production on TYD while I'm already driving it around.

I wonder if the factory shut down is the reason my dates got pushed in TYD.

I’ll try that strategy

I will say, TYD has been pretty accurate on my end for the current status. The actual delivery at my dealer dates are what seem incorrect. My car was in Emden and probably on the Vessel on 7/21 as TYD said. It just took the ship forever to leave port.

I think I see updates on my TYD late Friday nights/Sat. DGT said that TYD uses Friday's as milestone dates so maybe they update on Friday's too.

The status on mine has been weird and inconsistent literally since the beginning, with checkpoints happening out of sequence, one view displaying one status and another view displaying something entirely different, and so on. At one time I was getting three different statuses depending on where in TYD I was looking.

This is sort of like ordering something from Amazon, who ships it via FedEx. And then FedEx decides to go with USPS for the local delivery. Actually probably not too far off from what's really happening here.

This whole thing is pretty weird. Ours were on the same ship and all mine had to do is get to Richmond from Baltimore and I still haven''t heard that it is in town... I did get a notice that it will probably be next week. Yours is going a lot further and you are going to see it on Monday --- and mine is missing the electronic steering adjustment and I am only getting one key fob ---- like I said weird!

I have heard that the factory shutdown has already started. I have no way of knowing for sure - saw that on a post on Rennlist on a 911/992 thread similar to this one (people with cars on order). I spoke with my sales manager today and he is not aware of any stoppages of production lines due to parts issues - but again, the communication from Germany to the dealers is not very robust.

Right - the parts thing is very hit and miss. My sister just had a Macan S delivered and it also was without any missing parts. Actually just spent 4 hours with my sales manager on the golf course and had a lot to talk about. They're not a high volume dealership, but they've only had a few vehicles arrive with anything missing. Very unpredictable. Also, I don't have any guarantee about seeing the car Monday - just know that it left Baltimore today. But my dealership has 5 cars on that truck, so it probably has at most one stop before it gets to west Michigan - so will likely be here by Monday morning at the latest. Different dealers/regions have different carriers for their transport, and ours is Reliable Transport - and they are usually pretty quick getting things moving out of the ports.
