This is my take on the tyre question as well -- I currently have the Goodyear Eagle Performance F1 Asymmetric 3 Ultra High Performance (phew! :–) tyre on my 2023 GTS Sport Turismo (came standard), but I will change to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (or 5S, if/when they are released) when the time comes, as I have/had this tyre on all my recent cars; I have it on my 2014 RS6 Avant (which came with Continental ContiSilent tyres as default), I have it on my wife's 2016 Golf GTI, and I also had it on my 2014 Golf R and my 2021 Cayman GTS 4.0.It depends on what criteria are most important to you…
If performance: Michelin PS4S (or they may actually have PS5S in our size now) or Pirellis (can also go with the new Pirelli Trofeo R that the Turbo GT is equipped with). From personal experience, Michelin is generally a much better value/$ than Pirelli (equal or better performance and much longer life).
If you feel it is important to stick with Porsche OE: then Pirelli or Goodyear Eagle F1 are the only options for “max”. street performance; from reviews I have read and tire review videos on YouTube, the Hankooks are a good tire but not up to par with the performance of the other two.
If range, NVH levels and cost are important factors: the Hankooks (or if you don’t mind using a 295 rear tire, the Michelin PS EV), seem to be the best option, at the cost of some threshold performance
Personally, I have PS4S on my GTS (the only rear option is the OE tire from the MB AMG GT) and love them. I don’t track, but do push the car to the limits in the mountains outside of Los Angeles and can confirm that, despite many on this forums perception of non-NF0 tires being a big “no-no”, they are much better than the OE Goodyears I had and exactly what I expect from Michelin PS4S given prior experience on other vehicles.
Given how heavy these cars are, having the “best” practical max performance (eg, not considering more track-oriented tires like the Pilot Sport Cup 2 or Trofeo RS) to instill confidence under aggressive braking and cornering, is very important to me.
I'm a big Michelin PS4S fan, but wary of not using NF0 tires, so I plan to go with Pirelli P Zero R NF when my time comes.I need to replace tires. Currently I have Pirelli 21 inches now .
Any recommendation?
Thanks
The Pirelli is a good tire but why are you weary of using non NF0? In the US, Porsche has to prove that the non NF0 tire caused the issue in order to deny a warranty claim. I can’t fathom that as a possibility with a tire like the Michelin PS4S.I'm a big Michelin PS4S fan, but wary of not using NF0 tires, so I plan to go with Pirelli P Zero R NF when my time comes.
