3D camera useful or gimmick?

Opinions on the 3D camera vs the the normal review camera. Is the 3D useful or more of a gimmick/cool feature? Is it accurate, or are there situations where it does not work/can not be trusted?

I thought it would be the best thing since sliced bread but it was a gimmick (to me). You can’t trust it if there’s anything higher than the cameras, even though the perspective makes you think you can. There also isn’t enough precision that you can really trust it to get close to something. Finally, I don’t like the bump on the side view mirrors for the camera.

No.
It is rumored it may come since the Panamera has it, but that is only a rumor.

It has massive distortion. It's ok if you're looking to avoid curbs around drive-in's etc.

It's friggin' useless. The only thing you'd use it for is to check curb distance but the auto down side mirror does that better.

Useful, i would buy it again. U get used to the "strange" look of the rear cam. Wolud not buy a taycan without this sorround view.

Given the size of the Taycan and the limited vision out of the back window, I have optioned the 360 cameras.
I figure that it only needs to save me once from reversing into something to have justified its cost. However, I am disappointed that it appears to be significantly less good than the system I had in a rental Kia Stinger earlier this year!

I also have ordered the 360 cameras due to the same reasons.

I assume that the cameras (hardware) aren’t bad and that it is “just” a matter of improving the software that processes and shows the image on the screen. Maybe it will be included in the SW update coming here in November?

With a car of this value, anything that helps with visibility is a good thing.

I used this feature on my Model X and it curbed the wheels. I hope that Porsche will do better.
