I also wondered if we could invert this Escort and still have it work correctly? Would present all the controls (facing downwards) whilst placed flush to the roof liner - do you happen to know if this would work (I had not tried it myself as yet)?

Also is yours the std mount or the magnetic? Mine is the mag. and adds a bit of bulk up top in respect placement.
The included mount (mag) won't work as is. You have to modify it so that the mount is sideways. Note you can NOT mount the detector itself sideways as it won't detect the signal correctly. Mounting it upside down does work but again the standard mount doesn't allow that.

No I get of course that you have to modify the mount for any chance of getting this bulky 360c in the right area - was already doing that and a little differently to your solution (I'll post once I get it done).

My question was, in it's current position in your car with your mod, your detector seems to be barely above the zone in the windshield that can accept outside input i.e. police radar/laser signals, and I was asking if you are getting as good a reception as you did prior to using it in the Porsche (or is this the first car you are using gteh Escort in)? Also the length of teh 360c means that teh back end still touches the roof lining and you seem to have to tilt it slightly up to access said area of the windshield - no?
Thx, C.

I have isolated Windows and the reception is pretty good in the front and also from the back.
No complaints but the radar is located close to the rain sensor area.

Bad news for the printed support in PLA.
The car was in the sun all day long and it was 70 degrees. Not really hot but with the heat behind the widow the 3D printed support start to wrap and cause the 3m double side tape gave up and the radar was hanging by the power cable.
my next move is to print it in ABS. Did anybody experience the same issue?

I finally mounted my Escort Max 360. As with the Valentine, the stock setup won’t allow you to mount the detector high enough. I used a brass corner brace to turn the suction cup sideways.

Could you provide details on the corner brace? A pic of the brace and details where you found it / how you made it? Many thx!

Just wanted to say thanks for posting this file. Look forward to using this solution since I have the thermally insulated glass as well.
