Hi, my dealership’s dashcam partner company installed the BlackVue 900 dual camera system in my brand new Taycan. It will not connect to GPS. We just replaced the unit, tried it outside the car on a long cord and it worked fine. Back in the car 5 minutes later and no GPS again. The BlackVue has full time access to the car wifi hotspot.

Does anyone else have a BlackVue? Standard installation - by the rear view mirror.

The installers have been using BlackVue for years and do all the high end dealerships around here. I don’t have a heated windshield or anything else obvious that would interfere.

UPDATE: thanks to a forum member aiming me at Toll Sticker placement for cars with insulated glass in the manual I’ve mounted the front camera higher and to the right of the mirror just outside the black dotted area, near the roof line. Instead of below the mirror. It works now. Thanks for helping me out strangers!!!

Off to the installers to use the bracket instead of this electrical tape.

Mine connects to GPS just fine as long as I get out of my garage.

So strange. It worked sitting on the hood, but once I got 5 minutes away and checked it no longer worked.

Do you have the Thermally Insulated glass option? I believe it blocks signals.

I checked and I have thermal glass ( I think it's standard in US ) and my DR750X Plus GPS works.

I have an Escort Redline 360C radar detector also which has GPS and that seems to work pretty well, that mounted on the rear view mirror, takes a minute or 2 to acquire signal, and never had an issue with phone GPS either.

There's newer blackvue models if your on the 900, maybe the GPS is stronger in these newer models.

Thanks for the info! I have the 900 dual camera. I’m about to try to mount it closer to the roof - where toll passes are supposed to be mounted. I’ll come back to update!

Actually maybe I'm not quite correct, does anyone know if thermal glass is the same as the thermal & noise insulated glass? It looks like it might be an extra option outside of the standard one.

I don't have see thermal & noise glass as an option on the car, I just see thermal glass in standard equipment.

This is what I see in my technical specifications as the standard equipment from myporsche

Thermal and Noise insulated glass is the option that can block signals. It’s not the standard glass.

I’m reading in other places that thermal/noise windows is standard in some territories.
