Hi,

I have 4S that's been built, but not delivered. I've been told that without the Chrono package, I don't get launch control. The Good to Know doesn't say anything, and Turbo and Turbo S come with Chrono (I think). Does anyone know if Chrono is required/if it's true for the 4S?

I think sports chrono is required for launch control, i know it was an added option on my turbo
i was also told that sport + was only avail le with sports chrono too

According to the Good to Know app, Launch Control is available in Sport mode. On Taycans without Sport Chrono, there’s a Sport button on the lower screen, which will enable launch mode. See the screenshot from the app below:

People order Porsches without Sport Chrono? :p

Would be interesting to see how many folks who have purchased a new Porsche before order a Taycan without Sport Chrono.

@Miwa, i currently have a 911 with sport chrono but didn’t order my Taycan with it.

logic being that sports chrono in a 911 remaps the gear changes from slightly more aggressive in sports mode to only changing when red lining in sports+

With the acceleration being the same whilst moving in an EV, the performance should b the same regardless of mode.

launch control in the Taycan 4s with sports+chrono or without (in just sports mode) is quoted as the same.

@Mission4S - I’ve seen some reviews with the difference in the electric sports sound when accelerating in sports versus sports+ mode.

what’s your view on both the acceleration in both modes and sound?

Because of the US 'Performance Package' I didn't consider not including the Sport Chrono Package. If a customer (like me) wanted Rear Axle Steering, PDCC Sport, and PTV+, it was as if the Sprot Chrono and Electric Sport Sound were included free of charge.

rear axle $1620
PDCC Sport $3590
Sport Chrono $1320
PTV+ $1500
Sport Sound $ 500

Package Total: $6430
Individual Total: $8530
Savings: $2100
