Okay, did a run today and a charging session with car having spent night out and ambient temp of -9. Did use nav to warm the battery while going to charger. Some interesting conclusions:

1) power severely restricted all they way until charging session
2) regen non affected
3) charging severely affected until temp gets well above 0C
4) turtle mode goes away at 8C
5) temp is not maintained and goes away if used easily

Long story short:
1) keep car in garage :)
2) make sure temp 8+C to avoid coldgating
3) be aware of the power loss while battery is cold

Thanks for this, really helpful. When you say “turtle mode”, was the turtle symbol showing on the dash? I understand that happens when you get below 5% charge and essentially only let’s you coast the car to a charger at very low speeds. Would e slightly concerning if that also happens at 38% charge when the battery happens to be cold (for anyone without a garage).

It appears when you try to charge a cold battery. It was not present during driving.

Cool (as it clearly was when you charged!), thanks. That's good to know the car doesn't become a milk float when it gets cold. There's so much still left to learn about this car. This forum should really be made essential reading for dealerships.
