A month ago a Urus backed up into my CT front bumper. Luckily the guy is paying for a brand new front bumper.

So I'm taking the opportunity to do a no drilled way to mount my plate.

I've been looking to put a side front plate but the only ones I found were tow hook method and I really didn't like the idea that if anything bump into the plate would potentially damage the chassis. Or worse, if I bump into a pedestrian, I might severely hurt someone with something that is metal solid.

Since I have a 3d scanner and a 3d printer, I've decided to make my own.

And this is the results so far, I'm still on prototyping stage but it's gonna be more or less look like this.

This basiaclly will be mount up to the plastic tow hook hole. So no drilling will be required.

I think another 1-2 iteration, I'll get the final version done!

Will post more when it's done!

Why?
Just order one adhesive label with number and stick it on the front.
I have had mine for over 5 years and never had any issue. By the way it's like 30€ fine so we can afford it - if it police would say it's not ok.

Yah I thought about that too, but I wanted the frame to stick perfectly with the curve of the bumper, I'm using the tow hook hold as kind of a a positioning pin. And since I already have that, I might as well use a mounting point and call me skeptic, but I kind of don't absolutely trust double sided tapes lol since our license plates r bit heavy being a slab of acrylic.

Oh, and also it was a good excuse to use my 3d scanner and my 3d printer.

PS) I have a personalized numberplate so I left the EU country sign too... speedcam friendly.

Its a printed sticker 0,3mm thick with license number printed without the country EU sign, weighs less than 5 grams and sticks for over 5 years now without damage even with washing and high pressure water.

Yeah, the cops here in Hong Kong are kind of annoying... I hear someone got his car towed because of these customized plate that doesn't comply with the EU something 145 standard. And to be honest I do want to make it look "oem" ish with the mount hugging the bumper, Like it came out of the factory kind of look. I gotta say tho, when the 3dp piece fitted perfect onto the bumper, it was extremely satisfying lol.

Just a sticker - no letters sticking out or anything - simple, plain and cheap and no holes in front bumper.

Yeah I’ve also heard the sticker plates are not legal in Hong Kong and do get ticketed.

I don’t like how the California sticker plates (the technically-approved ones anyway) draw all the extra lines for registration placement that is not needed on a front plate. It’s oddly pretending to be a warped physical plate.

I know it's completely subjective, but imho putting the plate on the side ruins the aesthetic even more than the stock location! It just looks awkward.
