I had PEC in LA on my order until I was told it would delay delivery by 6 weeks. They only offer it 2 days per week and there is a huge backlog. It can't be scheduled in advance b/c the cars need to be offloaded first and post-delivery corrections need to be performed before delivery to customer. That's the info I got as of a few days ago.You can arrange whatever 3rd party transportation company you want, there are plenty out there.
But last time I shipped a car, I bought a 911 in St Louis and had it shipped to Socal, it cost me around $1500 in a fully enclosed truck trailer.
For $500, choosing the PEC-LA delivery option I get:
1. Relatively secure and fully accountable shipment of the car with Porsche being fully responsible for handling it, not a 3rd party company.
2. Free lunch in their restaurant
3. 90 min of driving time in their enclosed test track behind the facility
4. An overall VIP experience when they present my car.
For that price and given how close I live to the PEC, it's a no brainer shipment decision for me.
