Despite many reports in this forum about Taycan heaters failing, it was only after this article - My friend is driving a freezing-cold Porsche – and the schadenfreude is delicious - appeared in the UK Guardian in Feb. 2023 that Porsche publicly commented about heater failures and issued TSBs about replacements shortly thereafter.

European Taycan owners in this forum and the German Taycan owners forum have been posting about Taycan hanging navigation systems since July.

Contact Porsche AG executives. Contact the press. Publicize this problem.

Wow, that's not only a long time but a large number of people - and amazing that OPC can still claim they've never heard of it happening before

Called Silverstone today. The chap I spoke to had no idea about this. Best he could offer was to book it in to check it. I really CBA with a 40 minute journey without any confirmation it can be dealt with. Disappointing.

The List was started End of August and I am confident I had issues prior to that. But as usual one thinks it might be a singular occurence o_O

Very accurate observation. Mine was the same time, but I did not get an OTA but had to use an OPC!

Same issues here as described under #1: navigation freezing every 3 minutes or so for a long distance. Today is the first time I noticed it.

As a committed PCM navigation user for road-trips and someone who has tried to use CarPlay and keeps going back to the PCM, I think if I was experiencing this issue I'd be super frustrated. It really does sound like Porsche introduced a bug in a recent release – okay, it happens – now bloody release a fix!

The PCM on non-hybrid 911's seem stuck on a 2022 version. In some ways its annoying they are not getting new releases – but it also seems to be very stable and working well (if you ignore the usual PCM lag).

This thread is starting to make me appreciate the version I'm "stuck" on.

Well I am not sure if my car woke up on the wrong side last Sunday.

My PCM stopped showing any EV charging station information. Not only had it lost the information about available/total number of chargers, but the symbol that was left was just a petrol pump! Not an EV charger!

Most stations I passed by are a combination of petrol station and charging station, but two of the are simple Total and Carrefour petrol stations with no EV charging. They both showed up which makes me believe the basic map material is the one for ICE cars and then another layer for EV’s??

I have parked up the Taycan for an about two months now until I get it in for the workshop appointment. It seems to have the software in a total muddle and no resets or rests seem to help it. To much trouble using it on the next long trip.

MY22 in the UK, on 3885 after a dealer update a few weeks ago, and I had the rebooting navigation on a 250mile round trip.
Has to be a bad map update or something if it's suddenly effecting so many cars at once

The PCM is adjusting to the Porsche board's new found re-love of petrol!

It is not suddenly. It started mid july and every day more owners are reporting about the issue. Last weekend was one of the many bad weekends / days. Every month one or two days are worse than others.

Since my dealer in Bern fixed mine & my friends, and knew about the issue and was sure they can fix it before even seeing the car - I say with 99% confidence dealers know of the issue and the solution.

I suspect Porsche is in a low-cost gliding mode, and don't want to have pricey service campaigns / recalls yet.

If I were you, I next time car is in service, I would ask the service of an extract of ECU versions.
The latest versions are public, so easy to compare.

Would be shocked if people with this issue have the latest ECU versions

I have just been in contact with my service adviser about these issues. Despite Porsche Smartmobility advising me to book the car in for outstanding updates to TI65/23 and 3885, plus @chun recommendation for WMH0, the answer I got was:

Just the heating system to change again.

But nothing about the software.

So yes COST SAVING MODE is implemented.

But now I will get the 5th if not even the 6th cabin heater! Unbelievable!

Do you think Porsche service will supply that information.
’I looked through that long document for the campaign and noted that there were many sequences scheduled for updating all ECU’s. And each sequence seemed to have a list of the updates performed for the different elements.

I have tried to ask for the update, and response was there is none. I will ask for a list of all the sw versions in the different ECU’s now and see. But I guess the information you have shown is not public knowledge?
Worth a try though
