I have J1.2, MY 2025, produced on May, 2025.
1777383865505-48.webp
This is the latest version for your car that porsche is willing to install

Curious that you are getting the issue. Are you experiencing all the symptoms detailed in this thread?
1. Turn by turn freezing
2. Constant route crashes on longer routes
3. Periodic complete map crashes

You’re probably the luckiest / unluckiest my25 owner, to be the first one to to get this issue.

I had few routes below 50km with several “Navigation reloading”….also, two routes of 260km with same problems as i described in the thread.

Otoh, till recently navigation works fine, including charging planner/battery heating.

if i already have the latest version,, i don’t know what they are going to do in the store 🤷‍♂️

Think of it as a little 'cheer up' gesture from Porsche for when your nav stops working and you're stuck without a charge—at least you can binge-watch the newest Disney+ shows.
Not when your PCM has crashed you can't....

But it's nice to know you would be able to if it hadn' t because they invested the dev time 😁

(My PCM started with just nav crashing. It now freezes the whole thing when it's having a proper tizz).

Looks a long thread, hope my problem fits in 🤦🏻‍♂️

when they switched winter tyres to summer, they performed some software upgrade as well (haven’t had time to ask for details).
After that i found out that navigation stopped after few minutes, also got message that traffic sign recognition doesn’t work. Also compass doesn’t move anymore. After few seconds. navigstion loaded back, compass operates again, also traffic sign recognition came back.
When i set destination … screen became black after few minutes again….compass stopped, traffic sign no more working 😤
After 5th or 6th try…. navigation loading till the rest of our (260km) journey. No compass, no traffic recognition as well.

When i came back home, i just lock/unlock the car, and everything looks fine again.
Will see next trip… but todsy it was 3rd time with same problems.

anyone with similar behaviour?
Hi,

I had exactly the same problems during my trip to switserland with my '23 model. Got a software update but problems remain.
Now my dealer says Porsche has no solution for the problem and has put me on a list for an update as soons as it is available....without giving a date.

Disabeling the charging planner works for me at the moment no more navigation problems but i have 2 questions:
- is this really a temporary solution, do the navigation crashes come back even without the charging planner?
- going to Spain, what is the best app to plan your charging , if your Porsche charging planner is disabled

Thx!

Use ABRP with an OBD2 dongle. It works fine and offers more options than porsche route planner anyway.

After i disabled charging planner, i haven’t had any problems.

speaking about how to plan charging. I’d use some other app, Ionity or ABRP….to make a list of charging stations on my route…then, i’d set them as waypoints, so rhe battery would prepared for fast charging.

As far as we know (as of today), the problem first raised its head in July 2025. It affected initially people in the Netherlands and other countries with an early expansion to a dense charging network. Eventually it appeared to have expanded to cause issues across most of (western) Europe.

The problem affects J1.1 cars and is related to the dense number of charging sites and the manner in which the cars constantly attempt to display and calculate optimal charging strategies using the charging planner - even when no actual route has been defined, loaded or created.

Disabling the charging planner avoids the issue.

Alternatives using Apple CarPlay, ABPR etc are available but these don't use the HUD for example and are rather inconvenient (need to use external software/ODB dongles/manually add charging locations) as these don't activate the pre-charge temperature optimisation for the battery.

Porsche is aware of the issue and has (according to various dealers in different countries) stated that a fix will be available in June. Whether this is an update to the J1.2 software or an OTA update is not known, rumours are that it would be a long process, probably an update to the newer software stack but this has issues with bricking hardware as many modules in the car would need new firmware. Also the dealer would need the car for a few days. The belief is that no hardware needs to be replaced or swapped.

At the moment we are all waiting to see what happens in June. In the meantime, some people have managed to get refunds on their Porsche connect subscriptions and even refunds for FOD purchases of Innodrive etc.

Just curious, why the need for the dongle? What does it do? Does it add charging options for ABRP into PCM?

Disabling the charging planner avoids the issue.
[...]

Unfortunately, following my recent 550 km trip, I can no longer confirm that disabling the Charging Planner prevents the PCM from crashing.

Specifically, immediately after I re-entered my destination, the navigation system displayed a remaining distance of 180 km and a projected arrival charge level of 5%. However, the remaining range shown on the display was only 153 km. Exactly 4 minutes and 5 seconds later, the PCM completely crashed once again.

I also sent a message to smartmobility today to express my frustration regarding this situation. We shall see if I receive a response.

Just curious, why the need for the dongle? What does it do? Does it add charging options for ABRP into PCM?
The dongle will add live-data, in particular the SoC, to the ABRP-App. It won't add anything to the PCM.
