If anyone has a scan of the email :)

Here you go, this is what I just got:

>>>

I hope this message finds you well.

I am very pleased to come back to you with an important update and a solution that has just been released by our technical department.

They have advised that a WTG1 campaign has been launched, which involves the reprogramming of the over-the-air (OTA) software and the central computer. This update is expected to resolve the navigation-related concerns you have been experiencing.

As this procedure must be carried out in a Porsche Centre, I would kindly ask you to arrange a visit at your earliest convenience so that the campaign can be completed on your vehicle. Once the work has been carried out, I would be very grateful if you could revert to me with your feedback, confirming whether everything is now functioning as expected. This will also allow me to proceed accordingly with the compensation measure.

Please accept my sincere apologies that the issue could not be resolved remotely. Nevertheless, I truly believe that this workshop update will deliver the expected results.

I very much look forward to receiving your update following your visit, and I remain entirely at your disposal should you require any assistance with the arrangement.

Are only ppl who made a complaint at porsche centres getting the update?
So far I have no navi issues but my car is actually at porsche centre right now. They didn’t mention this update though

For now I’m happy with the navi. As ferdiaz also said, wait out how the update is working! It’s just curiosity if this update is for all or not. I never had an update yet so really no idea how this works.

It is a W (software campaign) update, so not mandatory. They will not actively update all Taycans, only where the owner complains about stuff. On the PFF forum there is a rumour since today that the update improves responsiveness and better charging UI too. So if true, you should fake having the nav issues ;)

I'm getting a whiff from that latter wording that they've either doctored the latest J1.2 version or created a Frankenstein's monster from the last J1.1.

If so, I wouldn't hold out much hope that they haven't borked something else, or that we'll then never see another update for J1.1 cars, them hoping it leaves it stable.

Maybe I'm just too cynical.

I'm hoping for a fix. Anything more is a big win.

My car was at the dealer yesterday for the 4 years service. They told me they expect a software update mid August which will be OTA. How difficult is it to inform all dealers with the same information at once?

Ditto.

But the way they go about this will determine whether it's a proper fix or a bodge job.

I suspect we'll be told nothing definitive/official. But will be interesting to see what we get.

The way they handle s/w issues is piss poor. It could be a massive force for good, but their bean counters are so myopic/stupid they cannot see that.

(I will eat my words publicly if there is no sign of a bodge - ie a "patched" 3xxx version).

@ct14garage do you have any information on this?

Customers in Norway also got some information saying this will be OTA. If that is true this is NOT a new PCM version and just small fix for the navigation software.

Maybe they want some dealer visits first to make sure there are no issues and make changes if needed. And once everything goes well, roll it out as an OTA update to everyone
