Hi all. Question for the UK members. Just got a build slot and in the paperwork is the list of optional extras. I had wondered about a ceramic coating but thought it might be too much of a nuisance to get done as I would be without my only car for 2-3 days. The dealer is offering G techniq platinum - looks like 4 products to protect paint, wheels, interior and glass. Has anyone had this? What did it cost? Dealer rate is £995 - which sounds a lot. If I had it done elsewhere I would probably do the paint and wheels. Possibly glass. Not the interior. I am mainly interested in views on the cost and what others have paid. It is offered via a local detailer (it appears) rather than being done in house.

I think with a detailer you’d be looking at £600 ish for a stage 1 correction and the Gtechniq coatings.

Are they quoting including the correction or just the coatings?

I have the wife's new Macan on order with a OPC who is a Gtechniq platinum dealer. Have been quoted £718 to get it done. Asked whether it was done by a third party detailer or someone in house. Unfortunately my OPC uses someone in house therefore the car including the Taycan which is on order from a different OPC will go to the detailer I used for my previous and current car.

example prices if you take it to an accredited Gtechniq detailer.

£515 for the platinum service which covers all that you need including paint protection.

Performed at the dealership.

You will also get a bag with cleaners, cloths and bottles - check the website - plus a warranty.

Worth it I'd say.

Thanks. Presumably that was the Aberdeen dealer that did you that price?

Certainly worth it at £515. I am less sure about £995. I might see if I can negotiate it down to something a bit more palatable. Unlikely to pay that asking price I think.

£600 for me for full coverage in and out after initial correction. Done at dealer after negotiation. I paid the same at my detailer for my Jaguar F Type which was smaller and the dealership sorted it all in house them selves prior to delivery. My understanding is they can't be G Techniq approved unless certified?
