Has anyone else had a CT arrive with broken roof glass?

Has anyone else had issues with broken roof glass on builds that include roof rails? At my dealership, 2 of 3 Cross Turismos arrived with broken roof glass. Normal routing is through the Port of Houston (first one) and the second came through Jacksonville (mine was going to be a PEC delivery but due to the long wait for an amplifier, and the PEC being booked for over a month after my amplifier got installed, I asked them to just ship it to me). So totally different “last-leg” carriers. Besides, the cars have protective film all over during transport, so nobody would have seen it whenever it happened. Anyway, I’m concerned about using my roof rails now. So if you have roof rails, please share your experiences, good or bad!

It's a known issue caused by a wrong torque setting for the bolts of the roof rails at the factory. Is solved in the meantime and the roofs will be replaced under warranty.

I've seen two. And one of the replacement roofs was damaged during installation.

I've had a crack appear on my 22 CT 4s, at 2500 miles. Even if you don't have one now, keep a look out. From the other thread, it looks like Feb -> April builds.

Anybody in tristate metro area have their roof replaced? I want to find a service center to take care of it once.

Brought it to MMC and it'll be covered under warranty. The parts is on back order, so we'll see when it arrives. They'll be using a person who only does glass work to work on the pano roof.

UPDATE: Porsche apparently FedEx'd a roof glass to my dealership, where they replaced the broken one and delivered my car to me! From the dealer - the glass has a cut-out where the roof rails are attached to the frame, so the rails aren't directly attached to only the glass.

That’s a great turn-around time. Good on Porsche for taking good care of a customer this way.

not a CT - but my 2020 Taycan Turbo arrived with scratched pano-roof - it was fixed a few months later when the part was available…the glass swap was no big deal - only the wait time for the part.

I am really hoping this is the last time. My 98 bmw has a cloth roof and it's still original. Perhaps Porsche could try canvas next time around?

i got a rock chip on my roof, it crack, got it replaced and while the shop was detailing the car, the roof cracked again. Shop ordered a new one and it was cracked right out of the box. Now i'm waiting for another one to come in
