How many charge to 100%

Agreed, but I guess my goal (which is hopefully consistent with this thread) is to be as compliant as possible with the manufacturer’s charging guidance. Tesla’s was “always keep it plugged in”. That was easy, pull into the garage & plug it in. If Porsche’s saying to only charge between X - Y %SOC, then I’d like the car to manage that if possible so I can again just plug it in upon returning home & forgetting about it. So it seems like the only way to do that is with the wonky profiles.

the only thing those wonky profiles do for me is control the max level that the car will charge to. it is convoluted, to set it to charge to 80% you set the minimum to 80%. so if it makes you feel better create a profile that charges the car to a max 80% and plug the car in whenever it is parked at home, the car should not charge beyond 80%. I have a second profile that will charge to 100% and use that one as needed.

Exactly what I do. I have 3 or 4 profiles with different max charging levels depending on the goal that day/trip.

Well the impression I got from @epirali ’s post was that using a timed profile would let me set both a minimum and a maximum SOC. But I just tried to set up a timed profile in the Connect app & the options were no different than what I can do using the General profile. So ??

So what I have is a profile with a percentage that is the minimum. When I plug in it will make sure the car is at that minimum or above. For me that’s 40%.

I set the desired SOC (the maximum) on the timer for the time I need to depart. So its a percentage but its now the desired SOC. I assumed this for you will be higher than the minimum. So it may be 60 to 100%.

Am I missing something?

Yes!
Profile = Min charge level to be reached right away.
Timer = Max charge level at a certain time.

My car is at the dealer to repair the rear glass issue. Im not sure how many days my car will be there but they've charged my battery from 54% to 100% despite me telling them not to charge it.
They "must" know it is not good to leave it at 100% overnight.
How angry should I be? Im at level 10 right now!
How bad is this for my battery? Its gonna be at least 12 hours fully charged before they open tomorrow

It's fine. Leaving it at 100% a few times won't have any tangible effect on battery degradation. Just don't make it a regular habit. It's not like if you leave it at 100% for 12 hours your battery suddenly loses capacity.

I turned on the A/C from my Connect app.
Hopefully this does something.

edit: 15 minutes A/C on... lost 3 miles of range but battery stays at 100

Hmm, the timer didn’t do what I wanted:

- Leave car plugged in all the time.
- Don’t start charging until SOC <= 25%
- Once charging, stop at 85%

since this is ~ what Porsche suggests (“don’t charge all the time”).

I confess that last night I charged to 100%, but my car is brand new and I want to gauge real world range at 100%. I will, most assuredly, charge to 85% on a regular basis.

I always charge to 100% at home... Degradation is inevitable and mostly comes from overheated DC fast charging.

I have my minimum charge set to 25% for Home location profile. I'll charge it to whatever I think I need it for if I am going to use it the next day.

As others said not a big deal on occasion. But yes a little bit of anger is justified, more because the dealer DID NOT hear you instructions. In this case its no big deal, but its not ok. I get the same when I explicitly ask them NOT to wash the car (then they use terrible methods) and they proudly hand me a ”freshly washed” car back…
