General updates:
- Resolved crashes in the Journeys tab.
- Improved error handling UX on the watch.
- Vehicle errors are now reported on the watch app in each vehicle's second page.
- Vehicle data exporting is now supported again on the watch app, but note that due to a bug in watchOS it's not currently possible to attach the files to emails/messages.

Tesla owners:
- Tesla Model 3 icon now renders its right side view mirror.
- Tesla vehicles now use the correct icon even when the vehicle is sleeping.
- Tesla API responses now handle 64-bit integers on older hardware.

OK - I have my first gripe :) I was on an (outdoor) bike workout this AM after the most recent Sidecar update where I use both a Hammerhead Karoo bike computer along with my iPhone to record stats. But today was the first time I got repeatedly inundated with requests from electric sidecar on the iPhone within the Workout app asking re sharing etc. etc. - seriously drove me nuts and very distracting - had to tap multiple times too to clear each request.

I assume I can simply turn off notifications in ES and may have to turn off trip logging to stop this behaviour cropping up in Apple Workout or is there a way that you can have Electric Sidecar basically ignore Apple Workout 'calls' to the app if that is actually what's happening i.e. that it might be mistaking my bike workout as a car trip?
Cheers, C.

Oh, that's super weird! Were you rejecting the request each time or accepting it? The permissions prompts usually shouldn't be allowed by the OS to happen more than once so it's odd that they'd keep coming up repeatedly. Will definitely look into this and sorry for the unintentional spam!

v1.4.0-32 is out now with a fix for the "Wrong username or password" error that some had been running into over the past couple of weeks. If you were having issues logging in, this new build should resolve that error and get you back into the app!

Adding the ability to select which vehicle is used for trip analysis purposes. Each journey will use the default vehicle when analyzing details such as battery use and range. You'll also be able to override the vehicle used for a given trip if needed, or remove it altogether if you weren't actually in any of your vehicles (e.g. taking a taxi or riding transit).

You'll soon be able to override the vehicle used for analysis of trips. For those of you with multi-car garages, this will make it easier to jump in and tune which vehicle you were driving, or to disable analysis in cases where you weren't driving your car such as when in a taxi/train/bus. You can also change the default in the Settings tab if you tend to have one daily driver.

Ah good catch, I wasn’t sure if anyone was using the vehicle trip data on the watch. I can add it back in! To help me tune the interface, how do you like to use the data when looking at in on your watch?
Thanks for offering to re-instate it. I find it helpful to be able to see the mileage and consumption of my most recent trip when I open the app on my watch. To be honest, I prefer that to seeing the odometer reading.
Added a link to be able to see the vehicle trip data in the next version that will go out, but I plan to revisit the overall trip UI on the watch once I find a good way to merge the on-vehicle trip data with the trip logger built in to Electric Sidecar.
Great - thanks.

Ah this is super helpful to know! Sounds like it might be a handy complication to provide as well then. I'll look into surfacing the most recent trip as one of the vehicle cards as well on the watch.

Porsche Taycan Interested in an unofficial Apple Watch app? Frame 7

v1.4.0-33 is out now with lots going on! And as a bonus, some promo material I'm playing around with above :)

Full changelog:

Three major updates in this release: Carplay support, multi-vehicle trip logging, and trip visit detection! Plus a bunch of smaller fixes. Read below for more details!

You may have noticed the Electric Sidecar logo on your Carplay unit with a demo app running for the past few weeks; real data is now wired up to it! If you've enabled trip logging, you'll see some basic real-time info about your trip in the Carplay app. More features to come!

This release also adds the beginning of surfacing trip visits, which will form the foundation of tracking charging sessions as part of the journey timeline. For now, it just surfaces visited locations as part of the trip calendar. Tap the "Visits" button in trip calendar sheet to see which visits Electric Sidecar was able to detect. Note that, due to geocoding rate limiting on visit detection, it can take some time for your visits to surface in the UI (~up to an hour or two, depending on how many trips you already have logged). Once historical trip analysis is complete, you will then see visits appear shortly after completing each trip.

Other changes in this release include:

- Phone to watch account sync now shows error messages on the watch when it fails. You must have the watch app open to the accounts page to see these messages.
- Errors are now better consolidated in the vehicle UI.
- You can now set a default vehicle for trip log analysis. If your garage only has one vehicle, Electric Sidecar will assume that's the one you want to use. If you have more than one vehicle, you'll need to go to the Settings page to select your default vehicle.
- You can override which vehicle to use for analysis on a given trip in the trip calendar sheet. You can also use "none" to indicate that you weren't driving one of your vehicles for that trip.
- Improved error handling for the Macan.
- Fixed a bug with speed charts rendering beyond the chart limits.
- Weather charts now show when data was sampled.
- Weather data is now captured more frequently during a trip.

FYI I’m still getting crashes when tapping the journey tab. Also, interestingly, the trip log page isn’t showing anything past 12th November.
