Doesn't your car lock the J1172 connector from pulling it out until it's ready, or did you force it? I thought that was the main reason why Porsche added a separate button, rather than just use the one on the J1772 handle, which is particularly bad design as it does allow unplugging even under load, which in turn can damage the pins or even the onboard charger. So last week after getting back from a vacay for 10 days I charged my car to 85%...pulled out the plug which in hindsight might of taken it out before the white light flash...got in the car and of course get the Red alert...park in a safe place and exit the vehicle in case of fire. Came here to read up...tried the lock it up for an hour, no good, did a day no good, so called roadside assistance. Which by the way they are all clueless..
So today for some reason I decided to try and charge the card to 95%. Did so then clicked the green button waited for the white flash permission to pull the plug. Got in the car and it worked perfectly...no alerts at all. Took it for a test and works great.
So do you think I should still get it checked out or you think I am good to go back to normal?
Welcome to club. Did they give you a timeline?Follow up to my issue (red electrical error alert)…After 3 weeks at dealer for diagnostics, they are ordering and replacing high voltage battery.
You can take the “hope and pray” approach that it is an isolated event (as rarely seems to be the case for those that have experienced and posted about this issue). I tried this at first but error kept occurring with enough frequency that car was extremely unreliable, and had to be addressed. So last week after getting back from a vacay for 10 days I charged my car to 85%...pulled out the plug which in hindsight might of taken it out before the white light flash...got in the car and of course get the Red alert...park in a safe place and exit the vehicle in case of fire. Another 2-3 weeks probably. I am trading the Taycan in for a new Cayenne S coupe. I really enjoyed it but hasn’t been very reliable over 2 years of ownership.Welcome to club. Did they give you a timeline?
Sorry, pet peeve: "might have" or "might've", but not "might of".in hindsight might of taken it out before the white light flash
Sounds bad!Red alert...park in a safe place and exit the vehicle in case of fire
Get it checked. Issues may be masked for a while. And even if improbable, this is still a giant battery pack filled with a gargantuan amount of energy. You don't want that energy ending up as anything else than transformed into kinetic energy on the road. "Worst" case the dealer tells you that everything's fine and you made a superfluous trip. If there is an issue, you'll be glad it was caught in advance.Got in the car and it worked perfectly...no alerts at all. Took it for a test and works great.

Hmm.... since you like to nitpick "pet peeves", your statement above suggests you are advising against the use of a heaters (HVAC, seats, steering wheel), any lights (external or internal), internal screens, audio, and any other form of energy consumption by Taycan subsystems which do not result in kinetic energy. I guess making generalized absolute statements is not one of your pet peeves? You don't want that energy ending up as anything else than transformed into kinetic energy on the road.
You, and everyone else, know what the statement was about, and that I meant the majority of the energy under normal operation. (Lest you now come up with something like "what if I want to use the Taycan to heat my garage for a few days"...)Hmm.... since you like to nitpick "pet peeves", your statement above suggests you are advising against the use of a heaters (HVAC, seats, steering wheel), any lights (external or internal), internal screens, audio, and any other form of energy consumption by Taycan subsystems which do not result in kinetic energy. So just like you, me, and everyone else knew that when @Bresdo1962 wrote "might of", he meant "might have"? I just thought you like nitpicking. ?You, and everyone else, know what the statement was about, and that I meant the majority of the energy under normal operation.
