Well, still away on business but had a message saying that mine hasn’t been done as the bodyshop didn’t have the right specialist tools yet and there aren’t any at any UK sites….

At least the 22kW and instrument cluster campaigns have been done whilst away.
Tell then there’s one at Porsche Centre Solihull!

Finally got mine back after 6 weeks! All seems fine but paranoid I’m going to see another cracked roof every time I go out in it!

Did they give you any explanation of why it happened. I’ll be the same as you when mine is finally done!

My dealer had multiple CT roofs from the same shipment damaged. Identical full crack line from right to left. My car is one of them. Built was mid Feb. No roof rack. Sitting at dealer since 6+ weeks waiting for replacement. Now they say it’s ok to drive and deliver, but no ETA from Porsche as to when replacement will be done. They ask here for a lot of trust.

Got some good insights from my GM today that will put those of you with open builds at ease.

First off. My roof did get replaced. Prior miscommunication from SA. its weather tight but does not perfectly match up to other panels. Will get another one installed in about 2 months. I would have not noticed that 1 mm height imperfection if not pointed out.

Now to the root cause: not a perfectly smooth groove in which the roof sits. Likely remaining small welding burrs. Defect has occurred in Feb, March and maybe early April builds. Only on CTs. Nothing on sedans. After April builds did not show up defective in the US. Porsche did address their production line issue it appears.

I looked at some of the pulled out roofs. Not as heavy as some of you think. I could lift one up relatively easily. Installation is of course not a one person job. The roof is fully glued in and clamped down with just 3lbs force so just a bit over torquing could crack it again during install. Main issue is now supply of replacement roofs from Germany.

I left feeling more at ease that Porsche got a handle on this by now and will expeditiously address the replacements, hopefully consider using roofs from the production line. Certainly happy about the knowledge and engagement of my GM with HQ to get this quickly resolved. He understands the brand reputation being on the line here.

Great insight thanks. Just dropping mine off right now (finally, will almost miss the crack as its nearly all I’ve known in my 3 months ownership 😂). Will ask the same of mine too and hopefully if they know it will match.

MY NEW REPLACEMENT ROOF HAS CRACKED
had it back for 1 week and two cracks appeared in new roof. Gutted. They clearly didn’t have a root cause when they did the fix. At a loss about what to do and wishing I’d gone metal roof!! May ask for new car.

That’s terrible! Especially after such a long wait .

When they fixed it, did they say what the cause of the cracks were in the first place!? As presumably they rectified the fault, prior to the replacement .

What have Porsche said now then.
When do they expect to get a replacement.
Let’s hope that they can find a solution quickly

My replacement keeps being pushed back each week, and I am driving the car to Southern Spain in August, not looking good.

Making me rethink my roof completely now …might go metal ….imagine the variable light roof cracking…. in and more so out of warranty🫣😵💫🤯😱

They have now said they have not found the underlying issue yet but have a team in Stuttgart working on it. Apparently in U.K. there have been 30 CT roofs go and I’m one of 3 who’s managed to go through two of them!!
I’m going to keep the car this time as not losing it for 6 weeks again. For those with the problem who’ve carried on driving, have you had any issues and have the cracks got worse over time or stayed the same?

That, is both shite and worrying.......

Mine never got any worse , well apart from the Cayenne Tank courtesy car till my (first 😬) replacement roof is done. Sure its all very good if you are into that kind of bus height ride but definitely can’t wait for Friday to get the CT back. If it cracks again, will be keeping it just as before till the next replacement roof…

Did you notice at the moment the crack happened while driving or was it something you found after coming back to the car?

yep.
It’s been all good for me. Hasn’t affected my enjoyment of the car, the crack isn’t getting any worse as far as I can see and I don’t see it when I’m driving!
Update

crack has got a lot worse. Inside and outer laminates now affected.
car going in 8th August for replacement to be fitted. A 5 day visit. Squeaky driver’s seat being sorted via replacement parts.

Oh no, thats the first I’ve heard of the exterior being affected! Mine is still with the dealer as were having trouble getting the roof off. Said no problem as rather not rush it (they’ve been good tbh, they just need more info from Porsche who seem to be playing it very close to their chest on disseminated info). Next Scotland trip in a couple of weeks so as long as back for that. Hopefully with more and more roofs being replaced there will be more insight into the issue. Have asked for then to check if the new PCM is available next week to do that at same time.
