I would kill for this, or at least saving the sport sound setting... why would this not be the default is beyond my understanding.
It is frustrating that mode does not stay on last used but it is a compliance issue in order to advertise expected range, I believe. The sport sound on the other hand should default on restart, but who knows why it does not, lol, maybe the extra electricity it uses would lower the range! lol

I should qualify, I meant this for VW in general, in my case Audi. I have made no attempt on the Porsche.
All coding depends on the individual car.
Yeah for example on the e-tron gt I know they can make adaptation changes, so I assumed on the Taycan also (cousin of the e-tron gt), but sadly it doesn't allow it. I believe VCD does. In the end I just ordered links to lower it for now

Made some quick attempts. Nothing for coding/adaptations. Really think this is limited on the Porsche end. I doubt VCDS will do any different. The later Audis are also limiting changes.

Wondering if I should keep obd11 now?. Not sure they will add future support and for now all I can do is scan and clear codes.

my Feb/2024 build 2024 RS E tron GT is very llimited with VCDS, they locked out pretty much every module except for the CAN-BUS module. The other modules to activate items such as rear DRL's, or change air suspension ride height is locked out, it can't communicate with those modules.

I would imagine it would be the same with ODBEvelen on later models as well. Hopefully that changes in the near future.

obdeleven doesn't support Porsche...VCDS as well. with Audi VCDS can do lot of things but not the tricky one like reprogramming units or update them etc..and also needs to be updated following the car's MY.. if obd could at least read the SOC would've been great! I contacted them since I'm use to be a coding tester for them but they won't implement Porsche
Not enough ROI. OBDeleven won't even support most functions for my Audi Q8 etron (not enough of them around - it says paid features/apps are available, but when I try to use them, ECU's are protected so coding fails). Based on some forum posts, it's a known issue and OBDeleven has not responded to requests for support - at least they do not charge credits for failed coding, but then again, I only bought it to do some recoding on the Audi, so waste of money unless they somehow accidentally end up supporting it because they will support new unlocking for other, more popular Audis or VW's.

I've got a Foxwell 510 odb2 device which is loaded with Porsche stuff, which I used for my Boxster and 911. I see there are a huge amount of things which it seems to be able to read/write/change but the useful ones (adaptive steering/PSP etc) seem to not write back to the car.
It doesn't help that all the settings etc in there are written in german.

Anyone know of any specific settings to change to add/change any cool functionality? I've got a odb11 too somewhere, I think its in my wifes car, so if that can make changes to Porsche now (the website seems to suggest it doesn't really other than the absolute basics) then i'll check that out later.

Please keep us posted on what else you are able to find & code.
I am in 2 minds whether to go with VCDS or OBDEleven... or maybe both - whatever gets the job done.

I am mainly looking for... coding the below:

1) Turn Rear Lights ON along with Front DRLs
2) Change Turn Indicator flash count from 3 to 5
3) Start Car in last mode used (i.e. Range, Sport, Sport+) rather than default Normal
4) Increase length of Front seat backward movement - when exiting car for an even easier exit..
5) Increase vibration on steering wheel - when car drifts onto side lanes, LC/KLA,etc..
6) Decrease/ Increase brightness of Front DRL
did you find a way to do any of the above. pretty much all of those things are what i'm looking to do. I guess its all pipedreams though, absolutely bizarre that Porsche didnt make all of these things an option out of the box.

Not only is it not an option, it is likely deliberately prevented:

couldn't seem to do either of those (presume you mean the light bar and the belt chime) using my foxwell.

just fired up my obdeleven now my wife's home , but even though it knows it's a taycan it gives me nothing other than "OBD2" menu which when click it it doesn't connect (although it connected to the main part of the app to know it's a taycan). very confused. also I note there are two obdeleven apps in the play store, but one doesn't seem my dongle (it's an actual obd11 dongle).

anyone got any pointers?

As I am aware, this only works with PIWIS.

I managed to do
1) Turn Rear Lights ON along with Front DRLs
2) Change Turn Indicator flash count from 3 to 5

Anyone had luck using it on J1.2 cars?
mine detects the car but nothing else and then disconnects… wondering if it’s the cars protection or something that can be addressed, I’m in the latest versions of everything of the app and the dongle firmware
