Many of us I suspect have two sets of tires/rims: summer high performance and winter/ aggressive tread.

While it says gravel, I understand that it will help in low traction, including snow.

CT is what made me enter the pool. Non CT was interesting but not practical enough for my needs.

This. I have used Gravel Mode in snow and to get out of a very muddy field recently. The car had 20” wheels and winter tyres on at the time and, in getting out of the field, it excelled while others waited for the tractor tow to arrive.
