I had a range shock first time I took the car skiing. Mountain climbing in the cold kills range

I have a 2022 Turbo S Cross Turismo with about 22,000 miles. I have the same range issues that have developed in the last 3-6 months. Range at 100% was 298 at best. Now range at 100% is barely 200, usually in the 190's. The car has endless summer so that is not the issue. Currently at the Porsche dealer for recalls and to check the ZHV batteries. Interestingly, the service appointment required the car to be there for 3 weeks -- which by itself is absurd -- loaner or no loaner.

Anyone else with similar issues?
It seems a pretty significant reduction in range, especially since weather is not a player where you live…
In my GTS I experiences a 10-15% drop during winter (not a particularly cold one anyway, never below freezing).
Please update us with any news when you get the car back!

It will go back up when the weather gets warmer. My car currently shows 160mi at 100% (small battery, RWD). It will be back to around 230 in a few months.

You sometimes get 200 miles on a FULL (100%) charge? And you have the high capacity battery?
Yes, it' between 23-28 kWh per 100 km with fun driving it.
Not bad at all for a car this size and spec.
If I had wanted optimum range I would have bought a base 19" sedan. For sure at least 140 km more range on a full charge.

But I wanted performance and design.
So, got to live with it and gladly do.
(My Model Y performance will go around 60-80 km further but charges slower.)

Besides: I really need the maximum range only on road-trips.
Those, I enjoy with time and peace of mind.

Going from 300 - 200 miles range is quite drastic - I would definitely get the OBD recommended. You will also need to drive the car down to below 10% charge and let it sit overnight. If there is a bad cell(s), it should throw an error message, but even if not you'll be able to see if there is an 'outlier' cell. Definitely post your results.

That's still over 200 miles on a full charge and isn't comparable to what I'm describing. I'm getting 200 miles on a charge with "normal", not "fun" driving. You're getting better mileage than me.

200 miles in cold weather is normal - both my Taycan CT 4S (both never more than 9 months old and around 5,000 miles) would hover just above that mark when the weather falls to <10 degrees C with mix of in-town and motorway driving

300 miles is a glitch, driving down a mountain or rose-tinted spectacles ... even Porsche didn't claim that level of range for the old model and its range numbers are goldilock scenarios at optimal speed (i.e. slow) and optimal temp (no heating or AC active).

28kwh per 100km would be 186 miles ... and everyone has a different definition of spirited driving

207 miles. He has the high capacity battery. And that’s at the low end of what he says he gets. 23kwh would be 252 miles.

Is 200ish showing even if you turn off the heater/fans?

Mine jumps from 230ish to 260ish if I turn off the heating/fans.

I have a home charger so it doesn’t bother me and I’ve yet to drive this in the summer

On a Turbo CT (my 2024) I m also getting roughly 190 miles on a 100% charge these winter days. Almost zero spirited driving in Switzerland. Mostly highway at 125-130 km/h. Winter tyres. Since new, I have in total 14.400 miles and 26.7 kwh average. Again not much high speed or aggressive driving. Pretty lousy performance.

Fully charged, range "shows" 206 (New York, cold winter this year). But the second I start driving (in Sport), it's like the flood gates open and the range drops 10% in 1-2 miles. As the battery warms up, it seems to normalize a bit - but I wouldn't trust the range beyond 180. The cold really kills us. I wonder what the 2025 cold weather range really is...

The upgraded / larger one...
Ok. So your car is as old as mine. Seems like you're seeing the same problem. How many miles do you have? Are you actually charging to 100%, or just calculating full charge range based on the % charge you did? I know fully charging the battery is bad for it, unless you drive right away. I never charge past 80% unless I'm immediately leaving for a long trip, which I've done only 2-3 times since I've owned the car.
